Anyone who has spent significant time in LCC has run into these local legends. Both armed with super secret crystal-whisperer beta, scores of first ascents, knowledge of that great under appreciated problem just up the hill, and plenty of stories of Cottonwood’s past, Mike and Justin are both to thank for many climber’s intro to and love for the Canyon.

Who is your Mayor of LCC?
I’m back on a short trip revisiting Yangshuo, China. It’s amazing to be back here after almost 17 years! It’s incredible to see how much this place has grown and how much climbing has developed since my first visit in 2009. It has me reminiscing on the good times I had establishing a few routes that have now become modern classics. Pictured here is Spicy Noodle 8c , White Mountain.

But their attempts to free the route were thwarted when Mason’s life changed drastically.
With the help of BD Athlete @connor.herson , Ditto and Mason found a way to keep the dream alive…
