On the 5th May I will be playing a set here @micro__scope in Dalston, London. If you are free do come along. It’s a small space, it gets hot, it’s going to be very intimate. It will feature songs from both my albums and I will be helped by @vanessafarinha_art So, do come along. Tickets are still available /e/euan-alexander-millar-mcmeeken-framed-insects-album-launch-tickets-1986306593491?aff=oddtdtcreator but if you can book in advance please do as it helps to know how many have sold given the limited capacity. I don’t want anyone sitting on my knee while I play. It’s cosy enough. Hopefully see you next week. A road test of ideas for Japan. Help me figure out what works.

📢 Date for your spring diary! Long time Microscope collaborator Euan Alexander Millar-McMeeken joins us on the 5th May to perform extracts of his latest Album ' Framed Insects'. Following 2024's 'All The Weather Of The Human Heart' — a quiet, aching meditation on loss, memory, and absence — Euan Alexander Millar-McMeeken returns with Framed Insects, a sonically and emotionally bolder work that shifts its focus toward the uncertain shape of the future. This intimate London show is your only chance to hear the album live before Euan travels to Japan to collaborate with @satomimagae . Ticket link in bio! Album releases April 10, 2026, copies on sale on the night.

Lots of yummy opportunities to come see our new show this week/weekend! Artists @edcompson and @arieh.eh will be taking roost with the kittiwakes and would love to chat about all things multi-species. Come on over for a cuppa, a natter and some oceanic musings.

We’re excited for our next exhibition! Join us for the opening on Friday 13th March, 6-9pm Hotel Kittiwake+ Stakeholder Lounge is a discursive space and showcase bringing together those affected by ecological compensation in the North Sea. The project responds to the artificial nesting towers installed in Lowestoft, Suffolk as compensatory habitats for seabird populations affected by offshore wind development. Known locally as “Kittiwake Hotels,” these structures were built by energy companies as a condition of expanding wind farms further out in the North Sea. @edcompson and @arieh.eh ’s ongoing project ‘Hotel Kittiwake+’ collates how ecological compensation looks in practice, and asks what could happen if wider oceanic entities could input into design. In this Stakeholder Lounge, the hotels are approached as ecological and cultural architecture that arise from a decision-making process around responsibility, repair, coexistence, and ultimately profitability. Presented by Doggerland Windustries, a 12,000 year old design consultancy and energy provider. The exhibition will be open 12-6pm Mon-Thurs until 27th March, with additional special dates and meet-the-artists moments to be announced!

💥 Last week to catch it! 💥 In HYPER NOISE CRYSTAL IMAGE, @cameron_randall_ has transformed Microscope into a reflexive, transitory and dissonant urban amplifier. Four months of field-recordings from within the gallery are live-processed through machine-learning and remixed in time with the rowdy public street of Dalston. The exhibition continues Cameron’s experimentation with processes of computation and contingency to reveal the material connections between ourselves and the environments in which we inhabit. Every day … hour … minute … the installation shifts and loops into something new. And there is ONE more week to catch it! Visit us: 📢 Mon-Thurs 10-6, just ring the “Periscope” bell on Nimrod Passage) 📢 DM us or @cameron_randall_ to have a special listening session and chat together at a time that suits you (they’re our favourites!) 💥 Join our closing party this Fri 06 March 6-9pm!

Big-up klaxon for Microscope’s fresh n’ feral 2026 lineup! 📣📣📣 Throughout 2026, we’ll be hosting pairs of shows. Each exhibition invite creatives across sound, installation, participation or visual arts to share their experiments in ecology and more-than-human sensing. Each pairing speaks to-, creates tensions between-, or poses new questions to- one another; either through their methods, subjects, strategies or standpoints. We’re really excited about our first two: 18 Feb - 6 Mar: Hyper Noise Crystal Image’ is a composite of live and contingent works encompassing multichannel sound and sculpture, by Cameron Randall. Field recordings from inside the gallery site are recomposed by machine learning in real time, while sculptures shift during the exhibition’s duration, proposing a space grounded on the mutable, entangled, and formless. @cameron_randall_ (pic 1) 12 - 27 March: ‘Hotel Kittiwake+ Stakeholder Lounge’, by Ed Compson and Arieh Frosh, is a discursive space and showcase bringing together those affected by ecological compensation in the North Sea. Presented by Doggerland Windustries, a 12,000 year old design consultancy and energy provider. @edcompson @arieh.eh (pic 2) More sneak-peaks and official event dates soon!

Final week to meet our coracle-in-residence! 🛶🛶 Our last exhibition of 2025 explores riverine craft, medieval language, and folkloric connections with British rivers. There were once 22 different coracle designs in UK, each corresponding to a different river. Now there are only three rivers licensed for coracle fishing, all of which are in west Wales. This one is for the Towy. Join us for our artist talk with @sarah.rhys this Friday (open 6-8pm, talk 7-7:45pm) and for after-drinks @dans.ldn (DM us to register a free spot) Join us also for a creative drawing/collage workshop on Saturday at 10:30am (more info and Eventbrite booking via link in bio) Or drop in 12-6 Mon-Thurs this week! Ring the Periscope bell on Nimrod Passage, N1 4BZ See you sooooooon!

Opening next week! 🛶💥🛶 Dates for your diary: Weds 19.11 6-9pm Opening Fri 05.12 6-8pm Artist Talk Sat 06.12 10am-12pm Workshop [RSVP via DM to register] Drop-in viewings Mon-Thurs 12-6pm The coracle is a traditional timber woven boat still used for fishing on three rivers in west Wales. “Wales” derives from the Anglo- Saxon word wealas, meaning foreigners or strangers. Sarah is interested in the medieval poetic descriptions of welsh coracles — Nofiwr o groen anifail / A swimmer in animal skin — alongside the descriptions in diaries of travelling English Victorians visiting ‘wild Wales’, who found the coracle folk very strange, roaming the land with boats on their backs. Charting a course through the Towy estuary in Llansteffan, the River Hafren / Severn through England, down to River Lea in Dalston, Sarah’s handmade coracle journey’s through myth and history, human and amphibian.
