On yet another @swarovski adventure, overseeing the window I designed for their flagship Austrian store. Stopped in today to my favorite Viennese hot-boîte, the Loosbar. Designed in 1908 by Adolph Loos who spent time in the US in the 1890’s and brought back to Europe his idea for an American-style gentleman’s bar. What it lacks in square footage it more than makes up for in style wattage. Chic beyond measure. I sat in my favorite booth (there’s only two), the very same where a pensive Charlotte Rampling composed herself in a memorable scene from the unforgettable film The Night Porter
Truly enthralled with this glorious image of @gracejonesofficial ✨ Years ago I became obsessed with the idea of crystalling her iconic hula hoop and was elated when the opportunity presented itself. Outfits come and go but it’s often the accessories or props that become an intrinsic part of an artist’s identity. Sometimes the little things are the biggest things 🖤 📸 by @sub_lation
It takes enormous strength and force of will to be an artist. Most people don’t have the balls for it. Our drive to move forward in the face of constant adversity is one of the defining characteristics that gives our work heft, relevance and longevity. That’s why I’m a great admirer of @Kesha She’s been through a lot and she’s come out on top. So I was delighted to be asked to create something to help relaunch her onto the world’s stages. Inspired by heros past, I developed a new technique, imbedding tiny mirrors into fields of crystal that would amplify their reach tenfold. Adding larger mirrors as design elements referencing our mutual heros Bowie, Marc Bolan, Freddie Mercury and Steven Tyler, we created this asymmetrical bodysuit. Shine on Kesha!
