It was so nice seeing Jaco again at the 10-year anniversary celebration of @harajukudayla .
“10 years of Harajuku Day LA! This is my third anniversary. I’ve attended all but two events in that time so I’ve witnessed all the growth spurts and evolution. In that time I’ve had the privilege of being behind the scenes- the famous rainbow arch lives in my home as well as the event organizer @soysugoi . Ten years of anything is really impressive. A lot of business don’t make it to that far and mean absolutely nothing. Like NFTs and frozen yogurt shops. But HDLA is still here and going strong, gaining international recognition and opening doors for aspiring and seasoned fashionistas alike.
“I was inspired by medieval leisure wear, utilitarian swag and the mindset of wabi-sabi. I sewed my hooded cowl from linen I brought back from Japan. It was just a small scrap of fabric from the end of a roll and I made sure to use every square inch. Pants are vintage Navy sailor trousers I modified. Thrifted vest and shirt.”

Post-Apocalyp-Decora or Dust Bowl Decora? I assembled this look the night before attending @harajukudayla for their decora themed event last summer. accessories include: weight lifting belt, horse tack, two hats with various brass machinists tags, Giant safety pins, dog chains, plumbob, vintage frame backpack (with all sorts of satchels, supplies and rope lashed to it), a bracelet made of sewing bobbins, various stainless shackles, brass hardware and my regular everyday utility belt. feeling like a dandy #furiosa
