Larchmont Village’s Muto-Little: Masters Of Costume Craftsmanship
When it comes to the art of costume design, Larchmont’s very own Muto-Little are standouts for costumes for film, television, and live performances. With decades of experience and well-known projects under their belts, Antoinette Muto and Kimberly Little have honed their craft and built a dedicated list of patrons. They operate out of a simple, elegant building they built on Larchmont Blvd.
From the detailed, high-quality costumes to the more specialized crafting for unique and intricate design elements, Muto-Little’s services cover the entire lifecycle of costume creation. A keen eye for design and selecting fabric ensures that each costume meets the production’s needs. They also offer expert tailoring and fittings, both on and off-site, to bring their creative vision to reality.
Muto-Little’s talent extends beyond costume design. They also collaborate with smaller vendors specializing in lighting and electrical work. And they are a proud IATSE union shop.
Their work can be seen in blockbuster movies like Hidden Figures and The Greatest Showman and popular TV shows like Watchmen and Yellowjackets. They’ve designed costumes for legendary music artists like Lady Gaga, Lionel Richie, Gwen Stefanie and Bruno Mars.
“We started working on outfits with Lady Gaga before she was famous,” said Kim Little, co-owner of Muto-Little, and since then they have been her go-to design house. “Gaga invited us to her first show,” continues Little, “When we walked in the room there were hundreds dressed like her. We could tell right away she was going to be huge.”
