sidenote: when i was 13 years old and about to make my debut on Will & Grace, @nickofferman was backstage (this is before he was the nick offerman we all know and love). he could probably tell by the sound of my voice how genuinely nervous i was, because as the crowd rumbled and went crazy for show, nick made me laugh the entire night. and more importantly, made me feel like i belonged there. for this, i will always love him.

i am immensely proud to be a part of this show. this photo of @mchernus and i was taken on my first day of filming. and when you know what scene it was that we were shooting you could start to understand the immediate bond that was formed between us. i love this man and when you know the kind of generous, soulful, and kindhearted person he is it makes his performance as Gacy all the more impressive.
@jamesbadgedale@iamgabrielluna@sullivangrams@marinireland brought so much integrity and intelligence to this, but they also made this experience warm. as heavy as the subject was, we were all taken care of.
@patrick.macmanus made it clear early on that this show would not glorify Gacy. it would focus on the stories of the victims and their families. 33 young men that we know of. it would also tell the story of the system that failed those young men and how Gacy was allowed to continue to commit his crimes.
