#Severance star Michael Chernus explains the importance of his “ICE Out” pin at the Actor Awards, calling out the “untrained, unqualified thugs” causing “chaos” in American cities.
“American citizens are literally being murdered in the streets.”
Michael Chernus stopped by Central Library recently and shared a favorite book of his: No, it's not The You That You Are, but instead Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
“Unfortunately, Aldous Huxley’s 1932 dystopian novel no longer feels like science fiction. In fact, this brilliant work feels more relevant than ever. Deemed futuristic at the time of its publishing, Huxley’s words now serve as an urgent warning," he said.
Michael Chernus is known for Orange is the New Black, Severance, and most recently as the titular character in Peacock’s 8 part series Devil In Disguise: John Wayne Gacy for which he was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for best lead actor in a limited series.
Thank you so much @criticschoice for such a magnificent evening. I am so grateful that the Critics Choice Association acknowledged my performance in DID: JWG with a nomination. And I’m even more appreciative that they recognized both Devil In Disguise and Severance with so many nominations (and a huge win for my friend @tramell.tillman ). I love both of these projects so much and it’s no understatement to say that they have both changed my life forever.
I want to say a huge thank you to my family. My gorgeous wife @emsimmy (her incredible dress courtesy of the @albrightfashionlibrary ) is always my rock and the greatest First Lady ever. Huge gratitude to @libbysimones for caring for and watching over our daughter June while we are in LA. We love you “Nana”. And to my incredibly supportive parents @nannychernus and @rchernus who always encouraged me to go for my dreams. We made it Mom & Dad!
