There are systems within us that we don’t feel, see, touch, or recognize moment to moment, but they are the systems that define so much in our lives – how we think, analyze, move, and remember. Undulation is inspired by these invisible frequencies within us, the repetitive and reliable currents that move us through the world.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
We make daily choices on how we move through the world. That’s when we leave the ripples - when our physical presence is seen, heard, and remembered. Incalescence is inspired by the fire, the inspiration, and the connection that we hold onto individually to move through our communities and leave our ripples, to build and embrace our webs of connections.

The ripples we leave are vast and deep.
🦎🎶💻Chameleon explored what we leave behind through live performance, sonified pulse data and visualized brainwave and motion data. It investigated how we are perceived versus how we are felt, how we are interpreted versus what we intend.
We invited our community to step inside the creative process and experience 🥁 percussion in new ways.

Chameleon, the first music + tech experience hosted by and created for The South Florida Center for Percussive Arts, turned an outdoor warehouse parking lot into a music, tech, and art playground.
🥁 Over 50 students (ages 6-18) performed a new video and live music piece by Maria Finkelmeier
💻 Local artist shared their interactive installations
🎶 Over 400 attendees witnessed sound and data colliding in immersive performances
Created by MF Dynamics with support from MAD Arts and funding from the Knight Foundation, the project invited the community to explore sound in an entirely new way 🌀🦎
