what comes to your mind when you think of home? this is the question I asked strangers in the streets of Vancouver for this photography project.
I came to a city I knew nothing about and where I knew no one. many miles of land and water between me and my home. but what does "home" mean anyway? where is my home? what does home smell like? how does it feel? who are the people that make a place a home? is it a state of mind or a physical place? during the last four months, I have been thinking a lot about „home“ and its meanings. it seems static and fluid at once. this city and this province have become my (temporary) home. thank you British Columbia, thank you Vancouver. this is for you.
but of course I am privileged to have a place that I can call my physical home. in my thoughts I am strongly with all the people that don‘t have a home, or people who‘s home has been stolen.
