I used to fear the word alone because I thought it meant lonely. It took years—therapy, self-work, mindfulness, and learning to enjoy the little things—to understand the difference. Being alone isn’t scary. It’s peaceful. It’s freeing. And honestly… you might just fall in love with it. #AloneNotLonely #HealingJourney #SelfDiscovery #untaboos #mentalhealthmatters

UNSEEN Sometimes the people who look the happiest are fighting the hardest battles inside. They laugh, they go out, they do “all the right things” — self-care, friends, dinners, massages, nature walks — yet still feel nothing shift inside. That’s the truth about depression. It isn’t about not trying. It’s about trying everything you can think of, and still feeling flat. It’s when even the things that usually spark joy, don’t. So when someone says they’re depressed, telling them to “go have fun” or “just get out of the house” misses the point. They already are trying — it just doesn’t reach them the same way anymore. Be kind. Be gentle. You never know who’s smiling through the silence. 🖤 #DepressionAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #ItsOkayToNotBeOkay #InvisibleStruggles #MentalHealthSupport #EmotionalWellness #YouAreNotAlone #EndTheStigma #DepressionReality #MentalHealthEducation #SilentBattles #MentalHealthCommunity

@mentoo_project / @untaboos Hosts Sixth Workshop on Mental Health Awareness in Hornsby yesterday, organised by @hornsby_multicultural_sangam in collaboration with @oyil.au and supported by @communitymrc Community Migrant Resource Centre, workshop titled “Your Head is Not a Space to Store Your Problems.” The event featured a unique storytelling performance by @manojshidan founder of Oyil, alongside a mental health awareness presentation by Niveditha Manokaran Dr. Niveditha Manokaran, general practitioner, founder of Untaboos, and co-founder of the Mentoo Foundation. Untaboos is dedicated to breaking stigma around sensitive issues such as domestic violence, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health, while Mentoo focuses on raising awareness of men’s mental well-being, breaking stigma and a pathway to help break the domestic violence cycle. Unlike conventional awareness programs, this workshop combined creative storytelling with evidence-based education, engaging both children and parents in an inclusive, family-oriented format. The session drew participants from across suburbs, underscoring the widespread community interest in open and meaningful conversations around mental health. We are honoured to have been able to bring this to the community, and we are looking forward to organise many other activities that will benefit the community and the children in improving their mental health and wellbeing. #mentalhealthawareness #mentoo #communitysupport #evidencebasedpractice

From playful kids to stressed adults, somewhere along the way we lose the art of open communication. 💬 Many men, in particular, are taught to carry burdens in silence, shamed for being vulnerable, and left to battle stress alone. This silence doesn’t just weigh on them—it strains relationships, families, and children too. Let’s break the cycle. Let’s talk, listen, and create space where vulnerability is strength. 🖤 ~ CREDITS ~ CAST (in order of appearance) Hitanshi Shah @thebettershahsister Kavan Makwana Sivamsan Senthilvasan @_sivamsan Aayushi Shah @fromyush Dr. Niveditha Manokaran @untaboos Anjan Bhattacharjee @lebranjan SPOKEN WORD by Aayushi Shah @fromyush NARRATORS Dr. Niveditha Manokaran @untaboos @mentoo_project Anjan Bhattacharjee @lebranjan MUSIC Prelude in Bilahari by Karthick Iyer @karthick_iyer Tilak Kamod by Rishab Rikhiram Sharma. @rishabsmusic Glimpsed Middle Reality by Deepak Ram Jeevamshamayi by Karthick Iyer Thoda Thoda by Karthick Iyer Hans Dhuni by Ustad Raees Khan DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY @karmatography PRODUCED AND DIRECTED BY @intention.studios (Aayushi Shah & Smrithi Karmakonda) #mentoo #untabois #MentalHealthMatters #FamilyHealth #Communication #MenNeedSupportToo

“Today is R U OK? Day – a reminder that sometimes, just asking and listening can make a huge difference. 💛 But to truly support others, we need to take care of our own minds too. If our heads are overflowing with unspoken problems, we can’t always be there for those who need us. That’s why we’re running a free workshop next week, titled ‘Your head is not the place to store your problems.’ The session will be led by Dr. Nivedita from MenToo Organisation, supporting men’s mental health. And I’ll be there from Oyil.au, sharing a storytelling session on the same theme. Its a Free Event - ✨✨✨ But registration is required 📚 Bring you friends, family, kids 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Tea & Refreshments Provided 🫖🍪 📍 Beatrice Taylor Hall - Hornsby, NSW
