CMRC is proud to support Sanctuary Runners Australia. A powerful movement bringing people together through connection, inclusion and community. More than just running or walking, @sanctuaryrunnersaus creates spaces where refugees, migrants, people seeking asylum and long-term Australian residents can connect through friendship, solidarity and shared experiences. In a world where many people can feel isolated or disconnected, initiatives like this remind us that belonging starts with community. We believe multicultural communities are strengthened when people feel welcomed, seen and valued, regardless of where they come from or how long they have been in Australia. Through simple acts of connection, we can break down barriers, build understanding and create a more compassionate and united society. CMRC is honoured to stand alongside organisations and volunteers helping to foster wellbeing, inclusion and social connection across Western Sydney and beyond. Together, we continue building communities where diversity is celebrated and everyone has the opportunity to belong. Because sometimes, a simple walk or run can become the beginning of friendship, hope and a stronger community for all. Creating Safe Spaces for Connection, Healing & Growth ✨ At the Community Migrant Resource Centre Bella Vista office, women from our diverse community are coming together in a welcoming and supportive space to engage in meaningful conversations around relationships, mindfulness, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth. These empowering sessions are helping women build stronger emotional connections, develop healthy and mindful relationships, strengthen communication skills, and deepen self-awareness through reflection, shared experiences, and supportive discussions. Through mindfulness practices, open conversations, and genuine community connection, participants are encouraged to prioritise their wellbeing, nurture confidence, and create healthier relationships with themselves and those around them. Programs like these play an important role in building inclusive, connected, and resilient communities because when women feel heard, valued, and supported, everyone benefits. A beautiful reminder that connection, compassion, and community can create lasting positive change. #WomenSupportingWomen #MentalWellbeing #CommunityConnection #MindfulnessMatters #EmpoweredCommunities

Love, strength, and community came together at Merrylands Community Centre as CMRC proudly supported a heartfelt Mother’s Day celebration on Monday 11 May. Mothers from diverse CALD communities, including Palestinian, Iranian, Afghan, Filipino, Indian, Fijian, Iraqi, and Syrian backgrounds, gathered for a beautiful day of connection, wellness, and empowerment. The “Mothers’ Circle of Wellness” created a safe and uplifting space for women to focus on their health, wellbeing, self-care, and meaningful community connections. From inspiring conversations and informative wellbeing sessions to creative activities and thoughtful hampers, the event celebrated the incredible role mothers play within our families and communities every single day. A sincere thank you to all partner organisations, facilitators, volunteers, and the wonderful mothers who helped make this celebration so warm, inclusive, and empowering. Events like these remind us of the power of multicultural communities coming together to support, uplift, and inspire one another. #MothersDay #CommunityWellbeing #MulticulturalAustralia #WomenEmpowerment #CommunityConnection

CMRC was proud to participate in the DCJ & TAFE NSW Community and Government Services EXPO held at TAFE NSW Granville Campus. The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with students, community members, service providers, and government agencies while sharing information about pathways to education, employment, and community support services. Our team had the pleasure of engaging with many individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, providing guidance on CMRC programs and services, with several follow-up appointments arranged on the day. Events like these play an important role in strengthening partnerships, building community connections, and ensuring people feel supported, informed, and empowered. A heartfelt thank you to DCJ and TAFE NSW Granville for hosting this meaningful event and creating opportunities for collaboration and community engagement. Together, we continue to build stronger, more inclusive communities. CMRC is proud to announce our partnership with UTS as Research Lead in the area of palliative care — an important step toward building more culturally safe and inclusive end of life care for migrant and refugee communities. As Australia’s population continues to age, this research is more important than ever. Too often, migrant and refugee families across Sydney underutilise palliative care services, while many also carry the emotional and financial burden of arranging for loved ones to be buried overseas. This highlights the urgent need for care systems that better understand and respect diverse cultural traditions, faith practices and family needs. Through this research, CMRC is helping strengthen cultural safety in hospitals, hospices and end of life care settings, so that policy and practice can better reflect the lived realities of our communities. We are also proud to have assembled a remarkable team led by Dr Abdul Khalil Noorzad, alongside Research Assistants Fatuma, Khujesta and Nithashini, who are working closely with Pan African, Afghan and Sri Lankan Tamil families and faith leaders across Western Sydney. End of life care touches every family, and every family deserves dignity, understanding and culturally safe support. #PalliativeCare #CulturalSafety #CommunityHealth #MigrantFamilies #WesternSydney

At CMRC, empowering young people means creating spaces where they can connect, grow and feel a true sense of belonging. Youth game night brought energy, laughter and teamwork together, giving young people the chance to build confidence, form new friendships and connect across cultures in a fun and supportive environment. At CMRC, we are committed to supporting youth through opportunities that build resilience, connection and a sense of belonging. When young people come together, challenge themselves and support one another, stronger communities are created. Moments like these show the impact of creating safe community spaces where young people can learn, engage and thrive. #YouthEmpowerment #CommunityConnection #Belonging #MulticulturalYouth #StrongerTogether
