Coolest thing ever alert - got a remix of one of my favourite artists @jeffparkersounds on one of my favourite labels @intlanthem through one of my favourite record stores @northside_records 🫠 I've been a bit obsessed with International Anthem since playing on the same bill as @irreversibleentanglements at @donaufestival a few years ago, and have been hoovering up their records ever since. Largely getting them from Northside Records, so much so that I began to feel embarrassed going in there and getting yet another (shout out @el.fuentes_ for not being too judgey 😊). And I've long been a big fan of Jeff Parker's stuff since getting Tortoise's TNT in the 90s and then having @shoulderbroken lend me a load of Tortoise and Isotope 217 CDs in the 00s, and the latest Jeff Parker ETA IVtet album is just beautiful, so it was a treat to get to play around with it. I ended up taking different bits from each track to put together the mix. So yeah, this is the coolest thing ever. Hey got a new album out today on tape with beautiful beautiful bookish library card packaging by old mate @c_d_gordon on his lovely wee label @handdrawnhand ❤️ it's the first in a series of three. Only gone and done a TRIPTYCH. It's mostly me grappling about in the dark with a guitar and a little synth going through some pedals i got off marketplace. With the occasional bit of fiddle and flute for good measure (and vibes). All largely improvised one-shot recordings, so, apologies for that. I love it though. I think I found a nice way of playing with loops and textures and all that but in a fairly non-repetitive way. Also you can buy the little painting I did for each one if that's your thing. Was changing the strings on my guitar today and figured I should plug in and record the detuning for some possible nice textures to use in the future, but then I got carried away and came dangerously close to enjoying myself. So this is that, uploaded to Bandcamp. A possible attempt to get back on the horse. Before the horse needs to be put down. Along with the jockey. It does get semi-good in parts though. Anyway, I'm enjoying playing guitar again. And drawing. I got a new notepad and Fine Line pen and everything.
