It’s Mental Health Week (May 4–10), and this year’s theme — Stronger Connections, Better Mental Health — is a timely reminder that feeling seen, supported, and connected matters.
At McElhanney, we believe caring for mental health is part of caring for people. That means creating space for honest conversations, helping reduce stigma, and encouraging the day-to-day moments of connection that strengthen teams — checking in, listening without judgement, providing support and resources, and reaching out when someone might be carrying more than we can see.
A simple message for this week: check in, listen, and reach out. You never know what a small moment of connection can mean.

That’s a wrap on another amazing season of campus visits!
For us, the journey started in fall 2025 with visits to multiple schools across British Columbia and Alberta, hosting and attending dozens of info sessions and career fairs, and having countless conversations with interns and graduates throughout the 2025-2026 season.
Great teamwork with our school partners, hiring teams, and the Talent Acquisition team led to great results. This summer, we’re excited to welcome more than 50 new interns and new graduates, along with over 25 returning early‑career professionals who are continuing with us after completing work terms in previous years!
As we gear up to welcome this group of bright talent in May, we can’t wait to see where their path with us takes them.

This April, McElhanney teams took part in the @vancouversunrun Sun Run and the @cityofvictoria TC10K. Over 150 runners participated across two 10K events in our local communities. We were also glad to have Jennifer Price, President and CEO, join the Vancouver Sun Run team!
Huge congratulations to everyone who trained and participated. With sunny skies, great energy, and well-earned post run brunches, it was a solid couple of race days.
Kudos to all who made it happen. We’re already looking forward to cheering on neighbouring offices as they take part in the Calgary and Edmonton runs in the coming months.

Today, on the National Day of Mourning, we pause to honour the people who never came home from work, and those whose lives were forever changed by workplace injury. We stand with the families, friends, and coworkers who carry that loss every day. It’s a moment to come together to reflect, remember, and renew our shared commitment to safety
“Today is a reminder of why we look out for one another, why we speak up, and why we never take shortcuts when it comes to safety. Each of us has people who count on us. Honouring this day means renewing our commitment to making sure everyone goes home safe - every day, without exception.” - Terry Tommason & Santino Pirillo, Executive Vice Presidents, Operations
We’re excited to share that @townofsundre Wastewater Project has been recognized with a Project Achievement Award at the 2026 APEGA Summit Awards Gala!
This award recognizes a project that addressed a key challenge for small municipalities: planning and delivering a regulatory‑aligned pilot to test and validate a non‑standard wastewater treatment approach. The project involved close coordination with regulators and project partners to define pilot requirements, demonstrate treatment performance, and provide the Town with a clear basis for future wastewater treatment decisions and reliable service planning.
McElhanney provided regulatory coordination and client support throughout the planning and delivery of the pilot project.
Thank you to our client, the Town of Sundre, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, and our project partners for their collaboration. Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients and thank you to @apega_ab for hosting such a fantastic evening!
