The beat tape is finally out!
I’ll be really honest - I’m not even sure this music really represents me anymore, but making it made me happy and taught me a lot and also connected me with people all over the world, so sitting on it doesn’t sit right with me. I made it during a period where I was developing a DAW and was spending a lot of time on screens so using hardware felt strangely transgressive and like a release and I think you can hear this in how unhinged a lot of these bits are. I’m not sure they all work but that’s also why I like them as a whole. It’s also sort of a collection about family and routine and the music industry and the (usually unspoken) tension between those things. Most of this music was written between 6 and 8 am with my first coffee of the day. That was primarily because my kids were asleep and my phone wasn’t ringing. Then my routine changed and now I’m writing music at night, often outside the studio. It’s changed how I write so this has become almost a process document of that time and I also like that about it. It was also about me letting go of perfectionism and then subsequently realising I was never a perfectionist in the first place (especially relative to the more competent musicians I usually work with) and that this is why this whole tape is so loose.
Any proceeds to some very beautiful projects I work with supporting young musicians and refugees.
Also this one is Bandcamp only. I’ve stopped listening to streaming myself and it’s been pretty transformative so it feels nice to be part of that ecosystem with this.
Big up anyone who listened and enjoyed at any point and let me know what you make of it!
My continued #meditationstotape ❤️☕️
Big shout to @_georgebelsham for kicking off the art, @wackjalms for the @nearfuturerecords brand and @x_ray_disco for making it happen 👊🏼🏆
“Grime Opera” | Documentary
The brief
Document a year long process of @pedestrian1998 first flagship project, capturing multiple workshops, partnerships and events.
Our approach
Extensive tracking of year long timelines anchored the production of this documentary.
As the project was developed by several rappers and a full scale orchestra, Rendah coordinated the filming of milestone events and 15 location specific interviews leading up to the performance.
Using the city as a backdrop, the aim was to explore the intersection between Grime and Classical music and the shared characteristics of the two cultures, facilitated by Pedestrian’s ‘ground-breaking’ flagship project.
The result
A bold collaboration uniting grime artists with a 65-piece youth orchestra.
Elevated Leicester’s music scene through a high-impact, cross-genre performance.
Created new pathways for young talent through live performance and exposure.
Brought culture into public space, engaging wider and more diverse audiences.

Pt 2 Nashville // Addiction sound
Amazing time in Nashville, such a cool city, never been somewhere where music is more central to its identity - literally the whole place revolves around it!
Intense time to visit too with massive snowstorms and power outages and the whole place trying to get itself back to normal. Really felt for everyone and had some deep conversations with all the folks I met.
Amazing to see @addictionsound and meet @kalmusky and @glennrosenstein to show them a bit of the vision behind @yustudio.charanga . Can’t believe what I saw there - the guitar from Janis Joplin’s Pearl recordings (first dance at my wedding) the Mic from Kind of Blue sessions (!) and I got to hold the master tape of Dolly Parton 9-5. 🙏🏼🚀🏆
Amazing meetings, discussions, live music, local beers and even some hotel beats. What I can’t really show here are all the amazing meetings with Educators, teachers, projects - but truly some amazing things in the works…
Also amazing to see Country music, lap steel guitar and amazing live playing in a way I never really had before. 🤠
Can’t wait to be back in the future…
Can’t wait to be back and a huge shout to @lee.whitmore for making it happen and being such a great host and @musicfirstofficial for everything happening with YuStudio in the states. Exciting times…
