Kenichi Iwasa and Maxwell Sterling return for a rare collaboration, uniting two distinct yet deeply compatible approaches to sound. Moving between structure and spontaneity, they shape a live dialogue of texture, tension, and space - unfolding in real time. Saturday April 4th, 2026 - our first-ever event at The Old Church, Stoke Newington, London - a warm-up show and intimate opening to the Easter weekend programme. Limited capacity ensures a close, immersive evening of focused listening. bela brings Korean Love Sonnets - a new work exploring the guttural voice and its resonance across space and bodies. Drawing on Korean folk traditions such as pungmul and reshaping them with sub-bass, metal-inflected noise, and visceral vocal techniques, bela creates ritualistic, cathartic performances. The work turns inward, using creaks, feedback, and resonance to craft a sombre, intimate listening experience. Following appearances at Berlin Atonal, Elevate Festival, Rewire, and Unsound, this is a rare opportunity to experience it up close. Also featured is a special collaboration between Kenichi Iwasa and Maxwell Sterling, merging delicate, improvised electronics with fractured, immersive soundscapes. The evening continues with the code-based compositions of Eye Measure, the harsh, combative noise of Noise Warfare, the modular whitewash of Thom of Rats, with Wilma DJing between the live sets. Less than a month to go until #hamletfilm is released in the UK. Starring @rizahmed and directed by @_aneil_ big love to everyone involved, was an incredible journey writing the music for such a fresh take on this timeless story.

Last week to experience The Spell or The Dream by @taishani , soundscape by me. It’s a total d-r-e-a-m to collaborate with Tai, completely floored and moved by her work since we met. This piece is so stunning and if you’re in London, you must go and visit, sit or bask in its beauty. The soundscape features layers of double bass, synths and frequencies that were inspired by dream states and hauntings. HAMLET by @_aneil_ has its Canadian debut at @tiff_net this evening. It was an honor to compose the score to this bold and beautiful film. We dug deep to find what the tone of Hamlet’s madness could sound like in a contemporary London setting. I look back fondly at all the sessions Aneil, Bridget and I had. I particularly enjoyed finding ways that music could support, respond or interject @rizahmed singular and brilliant performance of Hamlet and his grapple with power and madness.
