Earlier this year I had the opportunity to design my first display typeface with @brutaltypes ✨ I'm really happy about the result and it wouldn't have been possible without the team's guidance at Brutal Types! Brutal Types is a new foundry which has been launched at the end of this summer: it focuses on display fonts inspired by the lettering works done by designers and architects part of the avant-garde movement of the interwar period. First draft and first calligraphy of Rustica after the workshop at @la_maison_de_la_calligraphie . It's an ancient Roman calligraphic script that was used for seculiar texts on papyrus or parchment between the 1st century and the 9th century. The movements and kerning are a bit messy sometimes but I'm happy with the overall structure. #typography #typefacedesign #typeface #calligraphy #script #type101 #typo
