this friday nov 1 we’re at the fucking lincoln center with our family in @dogbreathnyc and @materialsupport 🇵🇭🇰🇷🇯🇵. A real life Asian American Unity gig. the opportunity to showcase our messages and our music on a platform like this is something I never would’ve thought possible when I started playing music so yall better m**h your silly lil hearts out.
nov 7 and 8 we were able to finagle our way onto SLANT’s first ever US shows. this band was major inspiration for us when we started no model so these are a real dream come true <3 even if you’re not in philly or boston i implore you to see SLANT on other shows in this run!!!
finally we get to play to the legendary c*h* for the first time to play with some of the hardest bands in hardcore at the moment. idk how this is @kimhwanchang ‘s first time booking a show and it’s already my fav line up of the year???
cannot express how special these shows are with just words. to get a chance to play with so many asian punks time and time again is something that warms my heart every single time and i certainly do not take these things for granted. we pour our hearts into projects like these because we really believe you gotta be the change you want to see in this world.

Este es Espacios Inconexos Soundystem Radio versión 2. Mientras me preparo para mi viaje a Sudamérica, y me cae todo el trabajo del mundo so no he podido coordinar una entrevista. Eso dicho, la idea de este episodio es dar espacio a bandas de otras partes del mundo que no son latinas, y de las bandas en países europeos o EEUU que puse, sean gente en diáspora, gente de la comunidad lgbtq+ y/o, con mujeres en la banda. Dando espacios a comunidades usualmente no representadas como deben ser.

Three Asian American-led East Coast hardcore punk bands—No Model, Material Support @materialsupport and Dog Breath—join forces for an epic showcase. The name of the evening, "Run Amok," intentionally refers to "Amok Syndrome," a behavioral pattern formerly once recognized by the American Psychiatric Association as a "culture-bound syndrome"—born out of the European misdiagnosis of Asian and Indigenous peoples' spirit of defiance in the face of colonization. Lyrically, these groups create music that addresses generational trauma, racism, war, social justice, and liberation in service of opening a conversation about the state of the punk scene and the use of the genre to assert fully empowered Asian American narratives rooted in anti-colonial resistance. Their work embraces the struggle of every person raging against oppression and inequality, both at home and abroad.
