No one Iād rather give my good side to but you,
@rocktherights . What a week we shared at
@unitednations UNPFII 2026 was years in the making, and incredibly special to finally stand together in the General Assembly with the
@nationofhawaii and our
@lahainarising team.
This yearās theme, āEnsuring Indigenous Peoplesā health, including in the context of conflict,ā reflected why this work made so much sense for us as impact producers. We came carrying stories rooted in lived experience, where health is not just medical, but land, water, culture, and housing. LÄhainÄ sits at the intersection of all of it.
Alongside Indigenous nations from every region of the world, we carried LÄhainÄ with us. More than 13,000 people were displaced overnight, over 100 lives were lost, and many are still not home.
We stood in solidarity not only for LÄhainÄ town, but for all of HawaiŹ»i and Indigenous communities everywhere. LÄhainÄās tragedy offers a clear and urgent reminder of what happens when the fate of home is placed out of the hands of the people.
From the opening session together, to a personal meeting with Special Rapporteur Dr. Albert K. Barume, four intervention speeches, inclusion in the EMRIP inquiryās final comments, the side event āHawaiian Sovereignty: Fire, Water & Health Rights,ā and an official UN screening of LÄhainÄ Rising with delegates, diaspora, industry, friends, and family šŗ every moment was grounded in purpose.
Grateful to stand beside you, and alongside a team committed to ensuring these voices are not only heard, but carried forward. This week was powerful. The work continues for LÄhainÄ, for HawaiŹ»i, and for Indigenous communities everywhere.
