Stance matters!
It always amazed me watching Tiger Woods walk up to the ball. The time he takes setting his feet, adjusting his position, rehearsing the movement.
You’d think after a lifetime of golf he could just walk up and take a swing.
But he doesn’t.
Yet in boxing, stance is often treated like something you either “have” or don’t. Something rarely trained deliberately.
We’ll spend hours trying to get stronger in the gym to hit harder… while ignoring the very position that transfers force into the ground in the first place.
If stance is that important in a sport like golf, why isn’t it of the upmost importance in a sport like boxing?

Last night’s fight between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley was a true war 🥊 Respect to both fighters for the heart they showed. But as a coach, safeguarding fighters must always come first.
The fight was officially stopped in Round 11, but personally I believe it should have been stopped earlier. Fabio was badly injured, taking too much punishment, and not offering enough back. Toughness is one thing… but protecting a fighter’s long-term health is more important than pride.
Sometimes the bravest thing a corner can do is save their fighter.
