As time passes I am increasingly grateful for the community, love, and support I received during RECLAMATION. I am so thankful to Art Gym for giving me the time and space to create, my creative team who worked so hard on making my dream come to life, and everyone who came to witness the show and engage so thoughtfully with what we created. 🫀 RECLAMATION (2026) is an immersive, embodied evening that unfolds across ritual and live performance. Working to excavate the body, RECLAMATION questions what was hidden or erased to survive, and imagines how a queer body can take space on its own terms. I am nervous but ready to share more of my journey and elevate others’ stories as well. Through short film, storytelling and photography I aim to bring light to things kept hidden. To encourage conversation where there may conventionally be silence or ignorance. To provide community and platform for those that feel isolated or cast out. Due to the nature of the performance, there are no exceptions for late arrival. The performance will conclude around 9:00 PM. Note: •Dress warmly. The building is not heated and will get quite cold. • Attendees should anticipate parking in the surrounding neighborhood and plan accordingly by allowing additional arrival time. On December 11th “1986: The Beginning” unfolds—a shimmering reflection on forty years of resilience, tragedy, and glamour. Beneath neon light and glittering nostalgia, Amayas invites you into their dreamscape where femininity and transness pulse through joy, pain, and the beautiful wreckage of the 80s. Beyond the beauty lies a call to remember, to reimagine, and to act—because the story of HIV and AIDS is still being written today. We will share these stories at Leon Gallery @ifoundleon , where Protocols of Desire, curated by Kiera Mcintosh @fromkierawithlove , will be our landscape. Amayas will perform an original piece and will share a film that was created with Henry @wesawanangel . Henry and Amayas will also answer questions from the audience.
