New exhibit alert! Join us for the opening reception of Sculpting Sound on Saturday, April 25th.
Sculpting Sound features new sonic artworks by local visual and installation artists. The best part? You're invited to interact and experiment with the pieces yourself. These works will then transform into a living 'orchestra' for a series of newly commissioned pieces performed by The Playground Ensemble.
The exhibition runs through June 6th, culminating in two concerts premiering the commissioned music on May 30th, followed by an improvised music concert on May 31st.

Notice the play of shadows with the textures of the fabric and how the shadows are limited only to the figure. Sandi creates a play between background and subject, bending the laws of physics and subtely hinting towards to a dreamworld inhabited by the sublime figure.
"Dans Le Réve" new works by Sandi Calistro
Opening Reception:
Saturday, March 7th, 2026
On Exhibition:
March 7th, 2026 - April 18th, 2025
Sandi Calistro, long celebrated for her work in tattooing and large-scale murals, has returned to the studio with a renewed devotion to painting. Her previous practices have been focused on media that demand immediacy, endurance, and an acute sensitivity to scale. Calistro now turns inward, embracing the slower, more meditative temporality of oil on canvas.
This return marks not a departure from her established practice, but a profound evolution of it. The discipline honed through tattooing, with its precision of line, its intimacy with the body, and the irrevocable mark, translates into a heightened attentiveness within her paintings. In oils, she encounters a material language that resists finality. The medium’s viscosity, luminosity, and capacity for revision invite a dialogue with time itself. Painting in oil also introduces a slower, more iterative process. It is these qualities of oil that heighten and reflect her themes of loss, grief, and growth.
