Anna P. Sutton is a Los Angeles–based artist, curator, and community advocate exploring storytelling, identity, and transformation through art. For @labulla @superchiefgalleryla they step in as both curator and participant artist -using dress, presence, and performance as an extension of their work. (Dress made by @lamuertemaria ) With roots in over a decade in education, art therapy, and over a decade of mentorship, their practice centers healing and connection. A strong background in film, photography, and modeling- including, not limited to work with @playboy and @voguemagazine shaped their understanding of visibility and self-representation. Now, their focus is community: Founder of @thehoneydropgallery curating across L.A., uplifting underrepresented artists, and creating spaces where art becomes a catalyst for dialogue and belonging. Not just showing art but becoming it. Video credit - @omarsone

From the shadows of the alley to the center of the ring… LA BULLA came alive last night. 🇲🇽🔥 Like a full-on lucha libre entrance, we rolled deep through the streets of Downtown LA with the skyline behind us, máscaras on, energy high, and cultura running through every step. No stage needed… the calle became our arena. 🥀💀 Nothing but powerful mujeres, art, style, movement, and that raw Mexican pride that can’t be duplicated. This wasn’t just a walk through an alley… this felt like a cinematic lucha scene straight out of a Mexican cult classic. Huge shoutout to Cali Street Life for the badass drone footage capturing us like a true main event entrance. 🎥🔥 #LaBulla #LuchaLibreVibes #LaMuerteMaria #Catrinas #DowntownLA MexicanCulture CalleStyle BadAssEnergy Cultura LuchaAesthetic DTLA CaliStreetLife

Creating “Pain-tings” is a process of internal emotions, through reflection and analysis, often needing time alone to fully understand what is felt. #intellectualize

Resist is not always loud. Sometimes it looks like survival. Here is a collaboration with @frankwperine and I for upcoming “Resist” Exhibit in Sherman Oaks. This piece is about the weight placed on bodies and the systems that try to silence them. In solidarity with those fighting for dignity, protection, and the right to exist without fear. Thank you to the attorneys and advocates doing the real work on the front lines of immigration justice @zalawyers @ginazapanta_ @mike.alder and for giving our local artist space to exhibit and shine. We all shine together. #Resist #ImmigrationJustice #ArtAsResistance #AbolishFear CommunityPower

A work in progress -1 of 5 Oil paintings - I’ve been painting a model for the past two years named @lamuertemaria She embodies La Catrina—a Chicana protester here in Los Angeles and a retired educator. When I first met her, she was dressed in full Day of the Dead makeup and clothing. At that time we met, I had just lost my older brother. I didn’t fully understand how to embrace Día de los Muertos until I experienced that kind of personal loss. Through painting her as Muerte Maria, as La Catrina, I began to process my grief in a deeper, more cultural way. Día de los Muertos is about connection—honoring those we’ve lost and staying connected to our ancestors. Thank you, Muerte Maria, for helping me through that process and for showing me how to connect. @elvelorio Exhibit 2026

Saw @andrej4la_mayor again @dtlaartnight @historiccore @rizocorpgallery There’s something to be said about showing up consistently for the art community. As an arts advocate, I appreciate that energy. I also believe in uplifting leadership that’s deeply rooted in Los Angeles and its communities. But connection is everything—and I’m always open to meaningful collaboration where there’s real support for the arts.

Such a beautiful encounter with @colettemillerwings today @blvkbook We shared space, stories, and our vision as artists- what drives us and what truly matters. She asked me what I love about LA… and for me, it’s this- supporting my art/ artists, my culture, and my community. Moments like this remind me why I do what I do
