Maria Flores Scott, also known as La Muerte Maria, is a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist, performer, educator, and designer known for creating bold, immersive cultural imagery through fashion, makeup, sculpture, and live performance. Inspired by Día de los Muertos traditions, lucha libre aesthetics, and contemporary resistance art, her work blends handcrafted costume design, airbrush artistry, and storytelling into unforgettable visual experiences.
For La Bulla, Maria will appear in full character presentation alongside an original art piece on display, continuing her mission of celebrating culture, identity, empowerment, and transformation through wearable art and performance.

A first-of-its-kind celebration of Lucha Libre culture featuring over 200 artists paying tribute to the legendary El Santo.
Now on view at Superchief Gallery LA through June 7, featuring original paintings, sculptures, prints, photography, and more from both emerging artists and legends including Chris Núñez, Estevan Oriol, RISK, Man One, Isaac Pelayo, and many more.

La Bulla was never just an event. It was a fight. A fight for culture. For art. For our people. For the beautiful chaos that happens when lucha libre, music, Art and community collide.
What began as an idea became a movement. A decade of building rings where there were none… creating magic out of grit… turning dreams into main events.
This production feels like a fever dream because the journey has been exactly that. Cinematic. Painful. Triumphant. Sacred.
Every mask tells a story. Every fall taught a lesson. Every comeback made the roar louder.

I am preschool teacher by day and an artist, who is apprenticing at Stone Temple Tattoo, by night. This is my first time entering La Bulla, so I’m excited to participate. I enjoy using multiple mediums, so for this piece, I wanted to incorporate guache, acrylic and charcoal.
