It is hard to believe that 10 years ago (plus a few days), I signed the paperwork to form the original Ma Plume Calligraphy. Since then, my business has grown in more ways than I could have imagined and I am beyond grateful to my friends and family for their encouragement and guidance along the way. Is anyone else dreaming of cherry blossoms and spring? I’ll never get over this gorgeous spring ceremony design, with the vibrant new green of the Central Park trees adding contrast to our blushing chairs and wild abundant cherry blossoms. The doors to the @brooklynhistory were an element B + C asked me to include in their stationery from the beginning. What better way than to bring this illustration back for the wedding day. We created a beautiful vellum overlay to their menus and personalized them with guests’ names. It created an elegant design component to complement @houseofbernal stunning florals. Personal details are what make weddings special for guests and unique to each couple. These gorgeous matchbox escort cards are one of my favorite such details from J+D’s magical wedding. Instead of numbers, we named the tables after restaurants and bars that play a meaningful role in their relationship, and @maplumedesign beautifully hand-drew each one (including abc kitchen, of course, which was also featured on their save the date)! Then, we created an escort card display of calligraphed cards and matchboxes, each printed with both the unique table illustration, and personalized with the guests’ name on the back. Guests loved this keepsake. We also filled candy dishes at the bar with an abc kitchen version, and J+D’s names and wedding date! I can’t wait to share more details from this incredible day, and for you to get to see the menus, which each included a story by J+D for why that particular location was meaningful to them.
