The Wauwinet is welcoming our 150th Anniversary on Nantucket. Take a trip down memory lane with us to kick off another historic summer:
— 1876: Opened as the “Wauwinet House,” a humble destination for legendary island shore dinners.
— 1920s: A premier retreat for the “Jazz Age” crowd seeking seaside seclusion.
— 1950s: Joins the Kimball family portfolio, beginning its evolution into a modern resort.
— 1988: Reimagined by White Elephant Resorts, undergoing a massive restoration into the hotel we know today.
— 2005: Honored with Relais & Châteaux membership, a global mark of excellence in cuisine and hospitality.
— 2026: Celebrating a century and a half as the “Queen of the Bay.”
