Early 2024, I was selected as one of six Nigerians for a professional and cultural study in the United States — an opportunity that became a true turning point, refining my skills and expanding my worldview.
Today, I’m excited to share that I have officially graduated from Bluegrass Community and Technical College with a Certificate in Media and Communication, specializing in Filmmaking.
This milestone also confers on me the status of a U.S. Exchange Alumnus through the prestigious Community College Initiative (CCI) Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
The past year has been nothing short of transformational. I had the privilege of learning from global industry professionals, working with one of Kentucky’s finest radio stations as an Audio Editor, and leading an anti-drug abuse campaign in Kentucky as part of my community impact work. I also engaged in meaningful volunteering and experienced rich cultures across diverse communities.
I remain deeply grateful to God Almighty for the courage to embark on this journey.

This past week, I had the privilege of organizing BEYOND THE HIGH;a community impact campaign at Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Lexington Kentucky, aimed at raising awareness about drug addiction, prevention, and the journey to recovery.
As a Fellow in the @statedept -sponsored Community College Initiative(CCI)Program @cciprogram , it was upon me to come up with an Impact project that would leave a meaningful footprint in my host community and BEYOND THE HIGH became more than just a project, it became a personal mission.
With the support of incredible organizations Like @newvistaky ,which offers support and treatment to Substance use Victims and @bluegrassctc Counselling Unit serving as the first resource point for individuals seeking help, we created a space to talk openly about the challenges of substance abuse and the hope that still exists on the other side.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Let’s keep pushing awareness and let’s keep encouraging recovery.
