Survival isn’t the goal. Permanence is.
Recently, I stood in front of my brothers from the Iota Psi chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity to celebrate 100 years of our chapter at Ohio State. I kept thinking about the men who chartered the chapter in 1926 — students on a campus that let them attend but didn’t fully let them belong.
Men who didn’t settle in despair but built something that could hold them.
One hundred years later, it’s still standing.
That kind of permanence doesn’t happen by accident. It requires maintenance, succession, and intention. It requires every generation to decide to embrace the resposibility of stewardship, and go beyond mere membership.
Legacy isn’t what you inherit. It’s what you build, protect, and pass on. Long live Omega Psi Phi and long live Iota Psi

“superhuman” athlete diving for a first down-literally chained to the marker, symbolizing the limits placed on their agency and identity. It captures the tension between extraordinary physical prowess and the systemic constraints that have historically defined how far athletes are allowed to go.

Co-Founder @briank_jr and I grew up in the Arborland neighborhood in Piscataway, NJ. @roro7387 and I have known each other since before kindergarten. Her husbaand @papajoejohns_ , I’ve known since college. We didn’t build with strangers.
