“ the motivation for me is them telling me what I could not be” (oh well) “🤷🏽♂️.
Big shout out to my peers in the art community that came to CREAM the other night to support and everyone else that sent their love and well wishes. Also shout out to all the haters, naysayers, and those with shady intention that motivation is appreciated.
But on a serious note I appreciate the love and you all showing up. You know I always work to be inclusive and add value to anything I’m involved with and for people I know. I hope that CREAM continues to raise the bar, create access and helps push the work along that you all are so talented at 🙌🏽
@jerrellgibbs takes us into the inspirational potential of story telling with his exploration of his love for the movie Rudy. Watching Rudy as a child taught him the importance of hard work and dedication, values that are visible in his practice to this day.

Memory as monument.
Drawing from family photo albums and personal archives, Jerrell Gibbs transforms everyday moments into paintings that feel intimate and universal. His work reminds us that while our stories carry different details, the emotions at the core are shared.
