Hair presentation for @echelon_noir Black Hair Reimagined
A love letter to my home the Sonoran Desert. Inspired by the resilience and resourcefulness of the living creatures and how it parallels my black queer community. Saguaro flowers bloom at night when it is safe from the sun-and rely on nocturnal creatures like bats for pollination. Iāve found nightlife as a time that community can gather at night and find safety in our self expression. Iāve seen the ways we create symbiotic relationships for survival the ways that our natural world does, even in an environment as harsh as the desert. Dedicated to the community and the culture šš½

Feeling transformed by The Will To Change š creating this was therapeutic-I find process to be one of the most interesting parts..thats where you really learn about yourself. The product is your reward, a keepsake, and a reminder.

Honored to return to the Black Hair Reimagined stage. This collection was inspired by change, transitions, and metamorphosis. I particularly looked to the natural world and the way renewal becomes an expression of freedom and beauty. Metamorphic rock, butterflies, volcanoes, flowers, ect. Change is something that can either be forced upon us or we choose to pursue, but itās what you do with that change. Embracing renewal can birth new forms of yourself you didnāt know lived within you.
