This past year I have had so many tools break down on me. Two sanders, one bandsaw (twice), my table saw that's always busted, a plunge router, my sanding dust extractor, a few jigs and hand tools, and finally.. the router for my @onefinitycnc almost caught fire.. it was time to give my CNC (Steve CARVEy) a new set of chompers with this @redlinecnc Spindle. Excited to have it back up and running!
When I saw @emily.the.engineer use a 3d printer to tattoo a friend, I thought... "why not?"
I mean, I'm FAR from an engineer, I don't have a ton of CNC experience, and I'm so prone to having bad ideas that I actually write "BAD IDEAS" on every shop notebook I own.
But, I HAVE tattooed myself at least a few dozen times. So what could possibly go wrong?
I don't have a scrap 3D printer to tear apart, but I DO have a gently used @onefinitycnc which is maybe just a little more intimidating.. But I ran a test on some fake skin and it went.. not horrible.
Side-note: it's insanely difficult to film yourself tattooing yourself with a CNC and one arm locked onto the table.
The small "table" I slide my arm into is to assist in keeping the targeted area in place and still, in addition to stretching the skin.
This was a fun experiment but I think it's safe to say, CNCs won't be a replacement for actual Tattoo Artists any time soon.

Never in a million years would I have thought I would be using my CNC as much as I do to build furniture.. but here I am, doing just that, while learning more and more every day
The amount of trust I am gaining with the @airweights table is ridiculous. I just threw this desk top onto the @onefinitycnc , turned on the vacuum table, no clamps, and went to town.
Shout out to Mr @jonnybuilds for cutting these mounting brackets last minute for me
I also used the @bitsbitscompany 425-DNC250 – 1/4″ Down-Cut Spiral Bit and the @dfmtoolworks completely acceptable size square
And @stonefinity I promise I'll clean my CNC tomorrow
Making doors for a project and I came across a file on Etsy from @twomoosedesign
Put it into Vcarve Pro and went to town. Finished pics soon
Shout out to my @airweights table, had no problem holding these pieces in place!
Also used a 425-SRB500 – 1/2″ Round Nose bit from @bitsbitscompany

At first I thought this HUGE @spetool_official Ranger Series flush trim bit was intimidating.. but it cut sooooooo smooth! Used a @spetool_official down cut bit for the initial groove, then the Jig Saw to get the excess away, and the ranger to finish it up 👍
Next step in upgrading my shop to build furniture more efficiently.. an @airweights vacuum table on my @onefinitycnc
Pretty surprised how strong this guy is..
Setup was pretty straightforward and nothing complicated about it.
72" red oak lightly distressed top with my diagonal negative space pedestal base.
I still have a ton of builds from last year I need to post, but I loved building this one. It was a process, but I hope to build this base a few times this year 🙂
I never take square pictures, so I used Ai to add to the sides of these pics to make them all the same size
Finished with @woodaddyfinish
Realized with everything going on, I haven't been posting finished pieces.. I'll try to be better about that 😁
72" Indoor/outdoor slatted style table and benches built this past fall.
This build was honestly way more difficult than It should have been.. The table was straight forward, but the benches were a huge pain.. I had a very specific vision for them, and they eventually turned out pretty close to what I originally envisioned, but the journey was full of bumps
