Making pins for the breadboard ends
I used a dowel plate and some cutoff maple from the project. I could run them through with a drill so they are perfectly straight of turn them on the lathe but this method is fun.
With this method the wood grain dictates how it will go through the plate. The maple was pretty straight grain and it went smooth.

Using the @microjig MatchFit grooves to hold a cutting board to do finger grooves on the end of a cutting board was an easy solution to the question of āHow?ā The clamps acted as both clamps to hold the board level with the top of my bench and stops to get the right spacing for the trim router. Itās an easy way to cut the finger grooves safely and cleanly. And if you use a better bit than I did youāll also get cleaner cuts. But Iāve had this card scraper from @dfmtoolworks forever and love it!

Weāve put a lot of time and effort into these hammers with their 4140 steel heads and black-dyed handles. Itās not easy to let this style go, but weāre making space for new products that make more sense for the future. The last few are ready to ship and find their forever home.

Sidebar on this product:
One of the things I (JT) am working on is learning to separate effort from outcomes. These hammers were a labor of love, but we struggled to sell them consistently. Letting go of a product I care about hasnāt been easy, but recognizing when to move on is part of the process. Weāll keep learning and getting better at this along the way.
Thanks for your support- JT and team
