We've gotten a few questions about our new donor portal since we've transitioned web links. Here's a quick how-to! Your contributions go directly to paying our crew for their hours of service, whether it's on set or in the editing lab. We also have fun rewards for folks who like a little treat ☺️ And every donation you make is tax-deductible! Whether you're new to our project or a Day One, thanks for supporting MAARTE.

Full house, full hearts!! 💕 Swipe for scenes from last Friday's launch party in Queens, NYC. We screened the first 3/10 episodes of our docuseries (Asia Jackson, King Marie, and Gericault de la Rose) to nearly 150 people! Then we had a reception afterwards with food from Boy George Inasal and Sisig ng Bayan, plus performances by Slayrizz and a lineup of date auction candidates 🫣🥵 In total we raised about $1200 towards the continuation of the series! If you missed out, don't worry - we are planning future screenings in other boroughs of NYC. If you want us to come to YOUR city, comment below where we should screen next! 📽️ Remember: MAARTE is an ONGOING production so you can always support by making a tax-deductible donation at bit.ly/MAARTE 🙏🏽 Photos by @daleknows

THE NUMBERS ARE IN! 🗣️ We raised $2075 in proceeds during our Tunes 4 Typhoon Relief event @versecafenyc ! Film photos by @iammanmeetsodhi , with a couple cell phone moments thrown in by me, @lovedearflor , and @mar.xnne A HUGE MARAMING SALAMAT AT MAHAL KA NAMIN TO: - Harmony, Andy, and all of the Verse staff for sharing space with us (and letting me recipe test the drinks with you) - Cass and Christianne for being the most amazing co-organizers 👑 - all the independent bakers and makers that put so much love into their contributions - our DJs for setting the tone with a day full of uplifting sounds - our raffle sponsors @ramronyc and @badforbusinessny - an incredible team of local volunteers including many new sisters from @gandagirlsclub - and last but certainly not least, all of YOU: the patrons who packed out the house from open to close, the ones who waited in line and hung out with us, those who boosted us on social, and those who sent DMs of solidarity from near and far! Combined with our event from the week prior, this brings our little pocket of the NYC community to a grand total of **OVER $3K (roughly ₱183K)** donated to support @nafconusa 's Bayanihan Response for Disaster Relief, providing immediate support for affected communities in the Philippines. It truly means so much to me to lead this initiative, and to have been held with so much trust and love throughout the process. I'm humbled, affirmed, a little bit sleepy lol but so so happy we made this happen together. Thank you.

With the recent devastating typhoons that have hit the Philippines, killing many and displacing over a million, @rxnnlm @maartedoc and @flowercatnyc will be hosting a Filipino Pop-Up event this Sunday 11/16 from 9-4 pm (till supplies last!) to help raise funds for emergency typhoon relief. thinking about water and what it means to the Filipino people and land. how it brings life but can also destroy. 1) Aklan, 2025 2) San Francisco billboard, 2017 3) Taal, 2024 4) from Patrick Rosal's Brooklyn Antediluvian, 2016 (he also has a poem from the same collection called 'Typhoon Poem') it's not that earthquakes or typhoons are uncommon in southeast asia. It's that the exploitation of natural resources combined with a government that quite literally turns a blind eye or goes on vacation when their people are in need, are what causes such mass devastation. Poor leadership causing unpreparedness, misuse of public funding, corruption. regular people already trying to survive are left to fend for themselves then still clean up the mess after, told to just figure it out. Stop romanticizing Filipino resilience. Let those who have lost, rest. Let them be soft and let us be strong for them. Let us exercise our privilege from afar to make their home feel like a home again. *I am currently partnering with local cafés to host typhoon relief events here in NYC this week and next. If you feel called to support, tap in.*
