It’s been about 2 months since I’ve been running my cooking classes now and thought I should share part of the reason I decided to start them

Since I started my cooking classes the most commonly asked question has been “do [I]offer a jollof rice class?”. I genuinely thought people were tired of hearing about jollof and people would be bored of it. How wrong was I? So now I’m giving the people what they want and I’m happy to announce the first of four jollof classes is here and I’m kicking things off with Nigerian Jollof on the 10th of May. A quarter of the tickets are already gone 🤯 Coming next is Ghanaian Jollof, which @eatwithafia has kindly given me advice on to ensure what I’ll be teaching is the true way it’s consumed in Ghana. In development is Senegalese Jollof and Sierra Leonean Jollof. Ticket link in bio

About last month… Nigerian Street Food Cookery Class at @brixton.warehouse What a session. Suya and sinasir made from scratch by every single student. Plus ewa agoyin, plantain and abacha salad to serve! In some cases, I was watching people cook food they’d never heard of before and in other cases, instead of ordering food they were already familiar with, they made it themselves. Thank you to everyone who came and brought such good energy, and to mum, Schola, Zana and Adi for keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes. Next NSF dates: 4th April · 9th May · 6th June (in Forest Hill) Link in bio to book your spot. 📹 @mgbvisuals_

Abula classes are officially live! 🥳 I’m so excited to announce my Amazing Abula class! Just in time for Christmas and makes the best last minute gift! When I asked what people would like to see from me if I started running cooking classes the most popular choice was soups and stews and so I figured what better than the Yoruba pride and joy Abula! Abula consist of amala (dried yam), gbegiri (bean soup), ewedu (jute leaf soup) and buka stew (a stew made from red peppers). The class will be 3 hours long with a mix of demos from me and hands on work plus some time to sit down and eat what’s been made. No previous experience needed, just bring yourself and your apetite. I’ll be running this across studios in London throughout 2026. The first one will be in Forest Hill @kemblehouse run by @bexseal . 🔗Link in bio to book your spot And if you want first dibs on future classes join my mailing list join.lopeariyo.com

Just a little preview of what’s coming to our supper club in 2 weeks 👀✨ A small sample of our @kwikish lamb shank with coconut plantain puree. We slow cook our lamb so that by the time it gets to you, it’s falling off the bone and melting in your mouth. Don’t forget the richness of that jollof paste? We promise you’ll be dreaming about this for weeks. This is just one of the dishes for our 30th of August menu, and we can’t wait to share the full experience with you all. 🌮🍜🌍 In May my restaurant visits started ramping up and I’ve been in the presence of fantastic company! First, 1 -4, I dove into vibrant Mexican flavors with the @sonderandsalt girlies and their guests at Santo Remedio savoring every bite of tacos (not pictured), lamb, hibiscus enchiladas, seabass a la Talla, and churros(not pictured). 🇲🇽 Next up, 5-8, I finally visited @chishuru in their new home with @malaikamalz ! We indulged in mushroom moin moin, gizdodo done differently with ox tongue and plantain, perfectly poach pollock cooked in banana leaves and the most gorgeous cauliflower accompanied by sauces that mimic efo riro🌍 Finally, I slurped up some amazing noodles 🍜 at the aptly named Slurp Noodle with @thedavidjaypaw . Pictured in slides 9 & 10, is beef noodle soup (nam tok), steamed prawn dumplings (siu mai) steamed dumplings, pork skewers and pork and prawn cakes wrapped in tofu skin. I ate my weight in allergies but I’m still alive 🙏🏾 Behind the scenes the ball has started rolling on @jebu.suppers and tickets are finally out! A delightful May to say the least!

Absolutely missing Brazil in this terrible weather. Thought I’d stay strong but I have post-holiday blues 😭 Everyone I’ve shown the first pic to says they didn’t know I was a poser but I straight up copied @__kris.____ because she was killing it 😂. I loved travelling with her and all the other girls. We had a whirlwind of a week. @folufabz @candlibs @damiess @riri_shanice22 @roamingwithromie 📸 @iamjeffdavidking
