As we approached opening night of the @tabordance season I was a little worried. It had been raining for a week straight and didn’t stop until 3 pm that day. Would people show up? Would I be able to get the energy high? As a DJ, you never really know how a gig is going to turn out.
Well! Two weeks later my heart is /still/ full from the incredible outpouring of love, enthusiasm, and energy. Portland dance crew turned up! Thank you to each and every one of you for getting down with me.

The first time I played @tabordance was in the summer of 2021 - before it was official. I didn’t know what to expect. I climbed the hill with a Soundboks on my back only to find a few thousand people ready to absolutely get it. I got on the decks - no subwoofer - nothing but 3 speakers - playing on a little table - and the place went BANANAS!!! It turned out to be one of my favorite dance parties of all time. The sheer energy and enthusiasm of the dancers was insane! I live for moments like that. Next Wednesday 4/22 is the season opener for Tabor Dance at the amphitheater on Mt Tabor. I am so excited to back, playing the 8 o’clock slot after some other awesome DJs. I’m cooking up something special and I can’t wait. See you there?
Tabor Dance Season Opener 🤝 Earth Day! 🌎
Community! Are yall ready to dance together in our beautiful local parks?! Wednesday April 22nd. Dancing will be had for all to kick off the season & celebrate the planet.
We love this planet and our parks so this week's theme is serendipity for our first dance back on the mountain.We encourage participants to embrace this theme with us. Some ways to achieve this together are:
- Traveling to the dance using clean energy if possible. Whatever that looks like for you. You can walk, bike, take the bus, a train and/or carpool. Maybe your bike is ready to ride after bicycle day ;)?
- Reduce or remove single-use products that you bring to the park to the best of your ability. They will end up in landfills in the best case scenario. We do have water available on site but will not be providing single use cups. Bring your reusable water bottle if you are planning on dancing as hard as we are!
- Pack it in, pack it out. This is a leave no trace event. Make a plan for packing out any waste created. The HQ booth will be stocked with extra trash bags if you or a friend is in need of one.
- Be the vibe you wish to embody by sharing words of encouragement and trash bags for your dance neighbors.
- If you see litter or the park being disrespected in a way not aligned with the theme please let a Dance Ranger, a member of the Safety Team and/or Leave No Trace Team know. Head to our HQ Booth if you are unsure.
🧹Before we drop the beats, we’d love for you to join us in embracing the theme with some hands-on action at our park clean-up this Sunday, April 19th on Mt. Tabor.

Portland - you showed up harddddd for Phantasm I at @realm.pdx - damn - that was a whole movie - since then I’ve been down in CDMX working on some new music and rejuvenating - but today the secret’s out - on Feb 27 we’re gonna run back and do it again - even wilder than the first time. Shift Festival changed my life. My first one was in 2017. I had met @soootyface at a party earlier that year and he was a producer of the festival. He told me to go. It opened up my whole world. By the summer of 2018 I had become friends with @thetalik and @endymienne and I joined @tectonicshift__ for @burningman They let me play at out our opening night party on the Esplanade and it was a foundational moment of my life. When I was a kid I had wanted to be a dancer on Club MTV. It turned out I was gonna be a DJ.
I’ve not missed a Shift or a Burning Man since I started going. The dust is everywhere. And my life has become so much more beautiful over the course of these years. While I am now blessed to get to play on many stages, it is always a special privilege to get to play on the volcano stage and dance with all you friends.
Thank you @thetalik@endymienne@athenazoeandrews@realstevecardi and all of the many leads and volunteers who work tirelessly to bring Shift to life each year. It is truly a super time intensive labor of love and it wouldn’t exist without all of you!
