Missing the sounds and silliness of SHIFT Festival? Stop by PDXWLF's Glow Bar this weekend to see pals from sound camp @spacebasspdx tear it up on Friday 2/6, and @endymienne b2b @chaachnyc (SHIFT's favorite unrelated sibling duo) on Saturday 2/7, with lighting support from our very own @thenoblerobot on both nights! You can also catch Space Bass at the WTC on 2/13!
Portland Winter Light Festival will be happening February 6 - 14, with a more detailed schedule on their website. In addition to the above, a number of other performers and artists you've seen at SHIFT will be featured throughout the weekend. @portlandwinterlightfestival is one of the Volcano's favorite local community events, and we hope to see you all there!

The Volcano has some bittersweet news - SHIFT Festival will be taking a break for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Tectonic (the group of volunteers who produce SHIFT) has earned some well-deserved rest, but are excited to spend time focusing on community building & engagement projects closer to home, here in Portland.
Fostering ties with our community (YOU!) remains a top priority! Things are tough out there - it feels right to nurture safety, art, and self-expression in more accessible ways during this time “off”. We are still navigating what these efforts will look like, but we have lots of ideas! Whether it be in town workshops or skillshares, supporting local events, or collaborating with existing groups, we hope to see you there! Tectonic’s Facebook and Instagram pages will continue to be the best places to get updates from our team.
In the meantime, we’d like to start by encouraging you to support our friends over at the Portland Winter Lights Festival! This year’s PDXWLF is February 6 - 14, and a number of folks involved in SHIFT will be participating - stay tuned for more details.
We are so grateful for the love and support of our community -- we’re excited to see what these next two years hold as we build new connections and strengthen the connections we share with you all... and of course we look forward to seeing you at SHIFT 2028!

Get ready for four days of dancing through timelines, unmasking mysteries, and camping under cosmic skies.
Staff are officially on-site and may be slow to respond via social media. If you're here and need help, swing by the Command Center.

🔥 No Smoking (Except in designated areas)
Gate is open 12 PM - 10 PM on Wednesday for Early Arrivals, and 10 AM - 10 PM Thursday - Saturday. All attendees should plan to GTFO by 2 PM on Monday (unless you're working teardown - did you know you could get a full or partial ticket reimbursment?)
*NOTE: If you arrive after 10pm on any day, Security will hold on to your ID and NOT issue you a wristband. You will need to return to get it the next morning after 10am when the Gate is open.

SHIFT is decommodified (except for on-site ice 🧊 sales), so arrive will all you need to be radically self-reliant! ⛺️ We are also community oriented, so you'll likely also be gifted with items from other attendees. You may want to think about what offerings 🎁 you have to share, whether it be food, drink, an activity, or your amazing dance moves! 😃
Unlike some festivals where people go as observers, you are encouraged to participate in whatever ways you feel called. In fact, it's your civic responsiblity to dive into the experience and the immediacy of the present moment. All of us doing this together, while being radially inclusive 💜 of ALL participants, creates the magic of this culture.
