Now that sunny days, near-stifling temperatures, and warm spring breezes have graced New York City at last, the city's residents are out and about at all hours of the day—popping by patio happy hour, going for long morning walks, and shopping under the sun. But as any art aficionado knows, May in the city also means
@friezeofficial New York is back again.
Returning for its 15th edition, #FriezeNewYork 2026 promises all of the fine contemporary art, cultural installations, and robust adjacent programming that it has become famous for around the world. This year, the fair is taking place at the Shed from May 13 to 17.
From
@southernguildgallery making its Frieze debut to
@agentilcarioca bringing a bold, crimson-hued presentation to New York, this year’s Frieze New York 2026 is shaping up to be one you absolutely can’t miss. Long regarded as a leading platform for African art, Southern Guild arrives with the reputation—and roster—to match, while A Gentil Carioca centers its booth around the theme of “red,” spotlighting Indigenous Brazilian artists like Denilson Baniwa. Elsewhere, Vivian Caccuri’s embroidered mosquito-net works stitch delicate threads into speaker-like meshes that hum with the eerie suggestion of insects. These are just a few of the booths worth making a stop for at this year’s fair.
