Over recent years the film and tv industry has seen a steady increase in power saving solutions focusing on sustainability and efficiency. There are now some excellent hybrid and battery power systems available for use on location yet specific knowledge and practical training is still limited across the industry. To help address this knowledge gap the @bectulocationsbranch partnered with @locationoneuk and @power.savingsolutions to deliver what we hope will be the first of many dedicated training days. A big thank you to Mark and Steve for hosting the day and delivering clear and useful demonstrations. It was great to see a strong mix of roles and departments in attendance. Our goal is to provide valuable knowledge and boost confidence when encountering these systems on set. We had a great day supporting @filmbarkinganddagenham latest Location Marshall Bootcamp for local residents this week. We were able to offer some hand on demonstrations of locations kit, including some cool monitoring tech for our solar chargers… which is why it looks like we’re staring at our phones! 💚 It always feels good to give back to the community and hopefully we’ve helped to inspire some new careers ☺️

We had a lovely time in Glasgow last week supporting Steve Knight delivering clean power training for @bectuv A really interesting talk on the transition to clean power in #tvandfilm to a very engaged audience. Great to see so many questions and discussions between those with more experience and those looking to learn themselves. @locationoneuk supplied a Stage V 20k Generator that was operating as part of a hybrid BESS system, twinned with a Hushpod 30/45 from @power.savingsolutions Thanks again to Steve and Victoria Stokes from @wearealbert for putting the event on and letting us be part of exciting changes in the industry! We’re excited to support any productions through their transition to clean power, so please do get in touch.

What’s that? Crispin’s left Location One?! Well… that sounds big! And it is — in that we’ll miss his unrivalled energy and charm on the daily. But also not, because the amazing team that Crispin & Carly so carefully built are all still here. The culture and HEART values they embedded continue to define who we are, and it’s very much business as usual. After 15 years of building an incredible business, Crispin is now fulfilling a long-held plan: passing the reins to his trusted team while he heads off to enjoy some new adventures 🚀 To quote Crispin’s leaving song (yes, there was a song — and yes, it was epic): “Well now this place is shipshape, my work here friends is done.” That said, both Crispin & Carly will always be a huge part of the family — and don’t be surprised if you see Crispin jumping in a truck to cover a delivery by next week 😉 Here’s to Crispin, new chapters, and adventures ahead! 🎉’

So that's #Focus2025 done. What an incredibly valuable, inspiring and entirely exhausting experience that was!
