And that’s a wrap on #MPTS 🎬💚 Two brilliant days of conversations and inspiring ideas for how we keep moving sustainability forward across the screen industries. A huge thank you as well to everyone who joined us in the zone: • Get Set Hire • Palmbrokers • GeoPura • Media Cymru • IDE Systems • and across from us, Zero Marine (and the amazing boat they brought along) Today’s SPARK – powering cleaner productions panel was a reminder of the momentum already building across the industry to make clean temporary power the norm on productions and locations across the UK. MPTS Panel: Accelerate – EV Solutions That Work ⚡🎬 Joining us this Wednesday for the conversation: • Feyi Osifuwa (Sustainability Manager, Warner Bros. Studio Leavesden) • April Sotomayor (Head of Industry Sustainability, BAFTA Albert) • Stevie Kotey (Transportation Manager, Netflix) • Beatle Van Graan (Transport Captain, freelance) Together, they’ll share lived experiences of prioritising EV, practical advice and the direct actions screen industry professionals can take for more sustainable productions. The conversation will be grounded in evidence from ACCELERATE 2025, which highlights that travel & transport accounted for 65% of the carbon footprint for film and TV as measured by BAFTA Albert. From there, the focus turns to action: clear steps productions can take now to reduce impact without slowing down creativity. Celebrating 100 years of David Attenborough 🌍 For decades, his films have changed the way we see the natural world and reminded us what’s worth protecting. That same thinking shaped A Gorilla Story behind the scenes, too. The production worked with local filmmakers in Rwanda and Uganda, reduced international travel, invested in local training and found lower-impact ways to capture the story on screen. From replacing helicopter shoots with drones to storing equipment locally between shoots, every choice was about filming more thoughtfully in the places at the heart of the story. New signatories. Same commitment 🎬🌍 Banijay UK, Fremantle and ITV Studios have joined the BAFTA Albert Climate Content Pledge – a shared commitment to using stories to help audiences understand what tackling climate change means for their lives and to inspire informed, sustainable choices. Launched at COP26 in 2021 with 12 broadcasters and streamers, the Pledge began as a way of bringing climate thinking into the stories we tell and how they’re told. And today it continues to grow – the Pledge also now represents 65 UK-based production companies and over 100 globally.
