The new platform covers key themes such as energy efficiency, climate risk and waste management, with guidance for each department as well as information on sourcing sustainable suppliers and gaining certification.

🎨Costume Dye & Breakdown for Film & TV: Behind the Scenes 🎥
Industry professionals Kirsty Steel and Lorraine Grice shared their expertise at our practical costume workshop at Wardpark Studios.
Participants explored a range of techniques including aging and dirtying down fabrics, and creating realistic effects such as blood staining and damages.

🎬 Electrician Conversion Programme - Case Study 💡
Our Electrician Conversion traineeship has been running since 2018, supporting qualified electricians to gain a first-hand insight into the day-day requirements of being an electrician on a television production.
Last year, Stephen Gilmour was selected as the 2025 Electrician Conversion trainee.

While working in the industry can be incredibly rewarding and enjoyable, it can also be physically and emotionally demanding so it’s important to look after yourself.
We’ve worked with the experts, Positive Psychologist Michelle White, 6ft From the Spotlight and Osteopath Andrew Patterson, Framework Clinics to create practical tools to help build your emotional and physical resilience.
This year Andrew and Michelle have worked with a number of productions including Debutante, Granite Harbour 2, Blood of my Blood, and Counsels, to give advice on physical and emotional wellbeing.

🌻 Spreading a little sunshine 🌻
We’ve been doing our bit for the bees by sharing sunflower seeds at our events – and now’s the perfect time to plant them indoors!
Sunflowers thrive when planted in spring, typically between April and May, once the risk of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. You can get a head start by sowing seeds indoors during March and April, then moving outside once they’re strong enough.
🌱 Top planning tips:
🔸 Indoors (pots/ windowsill): March – April, to protect young plants from the cold
🔸Outdoors (direct sowing): late April – late Mail, when the soil is warm and frost-free
🔸Succession planting: sow a new row every two weeks from March until May for continuous blooms from July through September.

💡 Meet the Electrician Conversion Trainees 2026 🎬
Congratulations to our two new lighting trainees, Ryan and Bobby!
Currently completing a 13-week placement at the River City studios in Dumbarton, Ryan and Bobby will spend time on a variety of productions filming across Scotland in the Spring.
Working alongside experienced lighting crew, they are gaining a first-hand insight into working with the equipment and the day-day requirements of an electrician on a television production.

🩸 Introduction to Costume Dye & Breakdown 🎨
We had a great day at Wardpark Studios in Cumbernauld hosting our hands-on, costume dyeing workshop.
Participants got a chance to experiment with dyes, learning key techniques to age and ‘dirty down’ fabrics, and create realistic effects such as blood stains.
