We are introducing the @lina.community fellows selected for the 21st BINA – Belgrade International Architecture Week, taking place this year from April 30 to May 17, 2026. ✨🏛️ @lisavanheyden , @enno.poetschke (Amsterdam/Berlin, The Netherlands/Germany) 🌍 Enno Pötschke and Lisa van Heyden are based between Amsterdam and Berlin, combining backgrounds in visual communication and architecture. They met at the Sandberg Instituut’s Studio for Immediate Spaces in 2023, where they began a collaborative practice shaped by shared interests in spatial research, ecological urgencies and critical engagement with infrastructural space. ♻️🏗️ Together, they integrate these perspectives to question and reimagine the relationships between material, space and socio-ecological conditions. 🔄🌱 Photo credits: Siri Tvorup #linacommunity #linafellows #bina2026 #architecture #creativeeurope #ecologicaldesign #infrastructure #spatialresearch #sustainability

LINA Fellowship 2025 Based on Lisa’s research “The Air Is Conditioned” and “Hyperventilation” we got selected as 2025 Spotlight Lina Fellows [@lina.community ] with our project: “HVAC — A spatial inquiry into how air conditioning technologies shape inequality, climate collapse and power structures in our built environments”. Globally, 2 billion AC units consume over 10% of electricity and emit more than 1 billion tons of CO₂ annually. With demand expected to triple by 2050, this infrastructure is becoming a major driver of climate change. Starting with the refrigerant as a material and symbolic carrier of meaning, the work opens up multiple entry points into the politics of air conditioning. It’s a deeply investigative project that brings together material research and cultural narratives through crafted and immersive spatial forms.

Finally Graduated! ✨😍 Hyperventilation Studio for Immediate Spaces Graduation Show Amsterdam, 2025 The work explores the invisible infrastructures of air conditioning systems. It emerged from observing how modern HVAC and cooling technologies not only provide comfort but also create dependencies and consume significant amounts of energy. In the installation, these paradox becomes tangible in a custom-built, figurative, breathing apparatus. Extracted from its original interior environment and placed in public space, it endlessly separates the air into warm and cold, exposing the absurdity and entanglements of these technologies, questioning notions of comfort and control. Soundsauger sonic installation in public space 48h Neukölln art festival “Urbane Stille” Berlin, 2024 by:
Leon Klaßen @leon____klassen Kim Kuhl @kim__kuhl Lorenzo Damonte @lorenzodamonte Masahiko Saji @masasaji Lisa van Heyden @lisavanheyden The installation takes visitors on a trip through the soundscapes of Reuterkiez in Berlin. The place is known as a central meeting point in a neighbourhood that has undergone significant transformation in recent years. The installation reflects these dynamics and the role of public space. Equipped with several feelers, the installation captures the sounds of the urban environment and transforms them into a 48 hours sound compilation. Visitors are invited to experience the city’s acoustic diversity and interact with the composition in a playful, tin-can-telephone-like manner. The central listening station acts as a giant ear, attuned to a city that is never truly quiet. It hums, squeaks, crunches and speaks. 📸: 1-9, 11, 12 @leon____klassen 13, 14 @lisavanheyden Thanks to @48stundennk

Breathe the Building
Sandberg Instituut, Amsterdam, 2024 Studio for Immediate Spaces 1st Year The ‘Luftschlange’ is an ongoing experiment with the circulation of air, investigating the relationship between bodies, air and architecture by visualising and connecting the breathing systems of human and building.
Attached to the building’s ventilation system, a lightweight tubular structure inflates and deflates with the movement of air through the space. When the fresh air is connected to the exhaust air plug, the installation begins to move organically and the building seems to gasp for air.
It becomes a three-dimensional drawing and a device, tracing invisible movements of air and transforming the building’s technical systems into a sensory experience. By hacking the system, fresh air can be directed to any location around the studio. @immediatespaces @sandberginstituut

Pizza Table — a roundtable for the Critical Studies Department, Sandberg Instituut, Amsterdam, 2024 The Pizza Table is a round table with a diameter of 480 cm. It is designed to meet the spatial needs of the growing Critical Studies department. It provides space for the entire group to gather, learn and sit together in a non-hierarchical circle. Composed of eight individual slices, the table can be rearranged into multiple configurations. The structure is carried by folded, box-like 2.5 mm sheet metal (Hot dip zinc coated steel DX51+Z275-M-A-C) legs on castors. What started as a brief—“a table for 25 people, budget €200”—evolved into a grant journey through the school and beyond. Rüdersdorf Archipelago - Exploration of Natureculture and Futures

Thesis and spatial installation IfA year exhibition TU Berlin Berlin, 2022 In collaboration with: @johannesbelz Supervision: Jan Kampshoff @fgdeco Lukas Feireiss @lukasfeireiss How do we want to live in the future and how do our societies look like? How can we understand the world’s hierarchies differently so that new connections can emerge? The Rüdersdorf Archipelago tells the story of a place that was once disturbed by human activity and is now experienced as a multi-species place by a society of human and non-human entities. It is about Critical Zones, the Anthropocene and how to find architectural strategies to discuss the relationship between humans and the world. A spatial structure inhabits the existing landscape and in some places condenses into small architectures. From the two-dimensional grid of the mapping, it shapes five spacestations in the defined research areas of the site. The spacestations correspond to the layers of the Critical Zone in which all life on earth takes place - air, organism, soil, water and rock - and explore new forms of coexistence. 📸 1,3,4,5 @johannesbelz , 2 @azpunkt , 8 @fgdeco
