Queen of the fae, my best friend, @kateharlowejones . I took the ref photo for this painting right before she gave birth to her daughter Violet. Kate is a true gemini, a creative torrent, pillar of maternal love, and keeper of primordial secrets.

A vision that came to me late at night at @chanorthartresidency last year. After dusk the songbirds would quiet and the owls would start talking. A presence began looming from the path leading into the woods right next to my studio. Good or bad? Not sure, but always there at night.

Portrait of artist @erikachoe , my fellow resident at @chanorthartresidency last year. I bought the contacts years ago, waiting for the right muse. Luckily I brought them to Chanorth on a whim. When i met Erika i knew she would be the snake goddess i had seen in a vision.
Grateful to @chunghee_yun for gifting me this canvas. i miss my crew. Promise to share more of my practice this year, stay tuned 👹

@lisasaeboe is a Norwegian-American multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2015. She has exhibited at Trygve Lie Gallery, Geary Contemporary curated by Elijah Wheat Showroom, WHAAM! curated by Snow Gallery, All Street Gallery, NADA Art Fair with Paradice Palase, and SVA Flatiron Project Space. She has been an Artist-in-Residence at NES Artist Residency in Iceland in 2019.
🌀
Her work synthesizes mysticism, s3xuality, and the natural world. Lisa explores themes of feminine power and our divine connection to our ecology, often depicting alchemically-realized depictions of self-transformation.
🌀
As a resident at ChaNorth, Lisa continues to explore and experiment with eco printing, a natural dyeing technique utilizing plant materials to create direct contact prints on paper and fabric. The plant matter is transferred to the paper through heat, moisture, and mordants like iron and alum to fix and shift the colors.
🌀 “As a city dweller, it’s important for me to take advantage of the woods and nature surrounding ChaNorth and to have a conversation with my immediate environment. The eco prints will serve as the first layer of my drawings and also determine the subject matter I depict on each eco print.”
