As 2025 comes to a close, we want to pause and say thank you. This year brought its ups and downs, and like many small businesses, we felt the quiet moments and the busy ones. Summer was slow. Fall brought full tables, packed workshops, and private events that reminded us why this work matters. Now winter is arriving with new bookings, new faces, and familiar names returning to cook again. We welcomed guests into our instructors’ home kitchens, cooked side by side online with families spread across continents. We met so many of you in person through classes, private events, and cookbook gatherings. None of this happens without you. Every workshop you book, every gift card you send, every page you cook from supports our woman-owned small business and the immigrant cooks who teach with such care, skill, and generosity. As we look toward 2026, we’re excited to keep building what we’ve grown together. More classes. More shared meals. More ways to cook with love and cook like a grandma. Thank you for being part of our year. ❤️ The League of Kitchens Team

Happy National Authors’ Day! ✍🏻📚️ Today we’re celebrating our founder and CEO, Lisa Kyung Gross: author of The League of Kitchens Cookbook and the visionary behind our unique cooking school. As Wired wrote, “The catchy title eventually made me think of some sort of kitchen superhero team, and that turned out to be true. The League is made up of foreign-born grandmas who teach cooking classes from their homes, featuring the food of their homelands.” Lisa’s work, and the cookbook that grew from it, is a love letter to home cooking, community, and the immigrant women who make the League of Kitchens what it is today. ✨ Celebrate @lisakyunggross and National Authors’ Day with us by adding The League of Kitchens Cookbook to your collection, available at the link in bio!

Last night, we had the honor of attending Common Ground Dinner: Celebrating Women, Storytelling, and Food at the @skirball_la —an inspiring evening hosted by @kcrwgoodfood host Evan Kleiman @kcrwevan and @lisakyunggross , founder of @leagueofkitchens Our very own Executive Director shared her powerful journey as an unaccompanied minor, alongside a cherished family mole rojo recipe passed down from her grandmother to her mother, and now to her. Attendees had the opportunity to taste this deeply meaningful dish. Through food and storytelling, she reflected on ancestral wisdom, migration, and the love that continues the work being done at the Refugee Children Center. In a time when division is often amplified, Common Ground reminded us of the healing power of shared meals and human connection. As the Skirball beautifully puts it, the event is about “bringing people together around the expansive possibilities of shared human experiences.” The dinner took place in conjunction with the Common Ground exhibit—a powerful, community-activated artwork that celebrates American pluralism. Created by Los Angeles-based artist Adam Silverman, the project involved collecting clay, water, and wood ash from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and the five U.S. territories. These materials were transformed into 244 ceramic objects—tableware and ceremonial vessels—that are currently on view at the Skirball. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in this evening of storytelling, sisterhood, and resistance—united through food, memory, and culture. Matzo balls and doenjang-guk. Brisket and banchan. This month, in honor of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month and Jewish American Heritage Month, our founder @lisakyunggross , reflects on the flavors, stories, and grandmothers that shaped her—and the League of Kitchens. From her Jewish grandmother’s elegant Passover tables to the everyday dinners crafted by her Korean halmoni (grandmother), Lisa’s life has been defined by the power of food and family. That spirit lives on through our Asian American instructors, @rimalrachana , @yamini.joshi1 , @aikohomecooking , @chef.shandra , @afsaris_kitchen , @damirainatullaeva , @the_league_of_k_ , and Mab, and our Jewish instructor, Larisa, who pass down their culinary traditions with each class they teach. 🫶 We are endlessly grateful for the recipes they carry and the communities they nourish. #JewishAmericanHeritageMonth #LeagueOfKitchens #AANHPI #aapi #aapiheritagemonth #aapimonth #aanhpiheritagemonth

We’re honored to be featured in @forbes ’ 2025 Mother’s Day Gift Guide for Community-Minded Moms, written by @annarosalie ! 💛 The article highlights how loneliness impacts so many mothers today—and how the most meaningful gifts are those that foster connection.
