Shoutout to all the working parents this @afcaustralianfashionweek who are going from shows and networking to the school run in the blink of an eye. Had a great time catching up with so many mates today - happy Fashion Week to those who celebrate 🖤❤️

I just had the privilege of attending a weekend retreat at @billabongretreat led by the remarkable @marque01 A reel certainly can’t cover everything I felt over the course of 48 hours, so instead I’ll just just say “thank you” to all who made the weekend what is was. 🙏🏼🪷🌳🦘🦆🧘🏻‍♀️

I had the absolute privilege of being on the judging panel for the first two rounds of @ebay Circular Fashion Fund in Australia. The ideas and innovations being developed by changemakers everywhere were incredibly inspiring. It’s great to see the eBay Circular Fashion Fund return for 2026 ♻️and expanding across Europe and North America to support startups driving impact in resale, repair, reuse, and recycling. Eight businesses will receive funding and mentoring, with one global winner unlocking the opportunity for additional investment from eBay Ventures. A strong example of how collaboration and capital can help circular fashion solutions scale faster. Applications are now open 👇 /circularfashionfund/ #CircularFashionFund #CircularEconomy #SustainableFashion #eBay

8 years ago the sweetest soul entered the world - he’s kind, brilliant, thoughtful, funny, a voracious reader, and would be a great pop star if he let us put him in dance class. As I like to tell him, he’s the best (late) Christmas gift I’ve ever received. Happiest of days my sweet boy ❤️🎂🎉

A tourist gave me the best gift today…after asking if I could take a photo of him and his girlfriend with his Polaroid, he offered to take a photo of me and my boys. Thank you kind stranger!!! 🩷☀️ #mumlife

A bit speechless after attending a special memorial for Jane Goodall at @tarongazoo hosted by @janegoodallau I brought my boys - at ages 5 and (nearly) 8 they were among few children in attendance, with the exception of the incredible children who read a poem along with Jane’s voice. Jane’s final message is a powerful one of hope and action, delivered in the calm conviction she’s known for: “I want to make sure that you all understand that each and every one of you has a role to play. You may not know it, you may not find it, but your life matters, and you are here for a reason. And I just hope that reason will become apparent as you live through your life. I want you to know that, whether or not you find that role that you’re supposed to play, your life does matter, and that every single day you live, you make a difference in the world. And you get to choose the difference that you make.” Her work with young people is especially inspiring. If you feel so moved, you should consider making contributions to her fund to continue her important work. Head to the @janegoodallau page to donate. #conservation #janegoodall #taronga #activism #climate #earth #janegoodallinstitute

Today I found myself at my beloved Alma mater @sydney_uni to celebrate the life and work of a beloved teacher and mentor Professor Elspeth Probyn. As I shared with the room, she changed my life immeasurably by welcoming me swiftly into the newly launched Master of Cultural Studies at a time when I was feeling disenchanted with my career. She walked me down the hallway herself to ensure I got my application in on time at the end of our first meeting. I was a profoundly different person at the end of that degree thanks to the concepts and theories I learned that blew apart nearly everything I had been taught to value through previous education and work experiences. Needless to say, I had no idea the powerhouse of a person who responded to that first querying email I wrote. Later when I wanted to return for a PhD, again she made me feel I could do it, even though my academic path had not been straightforward. She set me up with my brilliant supervisor @lustynatalya and she became my associate supervisor. Learning from this incredible feminist, cultural studies scholar who was also wrestling with the complexities of sustainability (in food systems, not fashion), gave me insights into, and permission to pursue, this often scientific-heavy field using tools from our discipline. Her brilliance and wit were inspiring and intimidating. I’ll never look at an oyster without thinking of her phenomenal work Eating the Ocean. I think often of the culture she helped build at the GCS seminar series/WIPs and drink sessions, welcoming students and professors to share ideas, learn and laugh together as peers. And I was so proud of myself when I saw that I had finally impressed her - just a little bit - with the work I completed. Earlier this year reached out to me to congratulate me on my career since completing my PhD, and ask some advice on how to responsibly donate some quality garments. I hadn’t known how unwell she had been, or that she was then recovering well and looking ahead to some travels. (Continued in comments)
