"You look like Rain"
ONOR Series //
Luxury becomes an intelligent ecosystem, rather than an aesthetic category. In fact, it turns everything we know about aesthetics and ‘how furniture looks’ upside down.
It reflects on how we treat our environment. We are living beings; we grow old, we change, and we interact with our surroundings. I see furniture in the same way. These are not static luxury items, where everyone buys the same thing to fit in, and which demands a place in our interiors with a clinical or polished appearance. They are living organisms, part of the same ecosystem in which we live, where imperfection and change are perfectly acceptable.
The technique used involves manually nailing the aluminium surface. Initially, this is a tool used primarily in the restoration and renovation sector to remove old paint residue or rust from metal surfaces, to make them ‘beautiful’ again. Here, it's backwards: giving free rein to what we would normally want to avoid, giving it scars, a living patina allowing it to breathe and respond. After all, aesthetics is an open question, one that is now answered by the user (and, in this case, through the use of the object)
ONOR is a series of tables, stools, and benches, and can fully be custom made and tailored to taste.
