Spotted Talent at Milan 2026 - @_studio_do_
At Alcova, Antwerp-based Studio DO presents ‘The Birth, Death and Rebirth of Form’, exploring stone as a material in continuous transformation.
Founded by Dana Seachuga and Octave Vandeweghe, the studio works with reclaimed and raw stone, allowing form to emerge through minimal intervention rather than being imposed.
Bringing together Belgian and Italian stone, the installation connects fragments of past architectures and domestic histories into new forms that carry traces of time, use and renewal.
Positioned between craft and scenography, the work reflects an ongoing cycle where materials shift between function, obsolescence and new meaning. (@d.a.s.e.a & @octavevandeweghe )

‘A Dialogue in Stone: Between Belgian Heritage and Italian Legacy’
-
A new spatial intervention that brings together our latest projects within a scenographic installation. At its center, a monumental buffet or vertical totem acts as a carrier for objects emerging from their ongoing material research.
The installation stages a poetic dialogue between Belgian and Italian stones, exploring the intersection of heritage, geology and contemporary making processes. Belgian stones such as Rouge Royal, Noir de Mazy, Blue Limestone and Silex encounter the globally iconic marble traditions of Italy — not as a contrast, but as a resonance between two landscapes, two narratives and two distinct ways of working with stone.
These crafted forms stand in strong contrast to nature’s organic irregularities, unveiling the opulence that can arise from seemingly inert material. The resulting objects inhabit both body and interior, enriching spaces through their quiet material resonance.
