SHIFT IS BACK with our 4th edition THURSDAY JANUARY 29th, 8pm! Who’s ready for a night of intimate, thought provoking performances? We’re starting the new year with a new theme, Accept Existence. Following our past events with the theme of Resistance, we recognize that for so many simply breathing, standing, and coming as you are, alone, is an act of resistance. So this January, we invite our communities to come without pressures, and just be. Accept Existence invites reflection on who is seen, who is honored, and how we move forward together. Set within Berlin’s ever-changing landscape, this event is also a call to recognize those who have planted and paved the way for the cultural spaces we inhabit today. We’d like to acknowledge the stories that are often overlooked as the city continues to rapidly transform. Further Inward with LIniae Tracing a path through low end tension and flickering textures, Liniae delivers a narrative suspended between clarity and distortion. A mix where gravity bends and rhythms liquefy. Quietly hypnotic, pleasantly disorienting. A story carved in low-end pulses, subtle tonal shifts and steady, driving rhythms. Elusive, but unmistakably alive. I met Louis at the mighty OHM in Berlin, where he worked as night manager. I hold much respect for people who hold these roles, they’re the backbone of the music scene, even if they rarely get the spotlight. Later, I discovered his music, and it genuinely caught me off guard in the best way. I’m really happy to have him on the Further Inward mix series. His mix hits exactly what I look for in music: focused, thoughtful, and with a strong sense of direction. We invite for a night of unique live b2bs between some of the most interesting artists of the Berlin underground. Expect unheard explorations into techno, breakbeats, and IDM for a heady, organic, and energetic dance floor. For this round, we’re taking a new approach to b2b with an uninterrupted stream of sets through the night. Each artist will have solo time behind the decks to curate an hour of their own sound, blending into the next artist’s set with a period of b2b exchange. On the night of the 27.09 find me weaving oscillations with dreams for Rausch at @backsteinboot 🌙 I'll be performing a project I'm working on since some time now, using an acoustic piano and contact mics to create feedbacks and navigate thru the intersections and interplays of harmonics of the strings. I can't bring a piano this time so I'll be only playing recordings of it tho :) bring your sleeping outfit and necessary supplies to get comfy and dive in the sound ✨
