Did u know that only 2% of bottle glass discarded in the US is actually recycled back into glass manufacturing? (Source:EPA) And that it’s basically never the green or brown bottles ? That means that the rest of the 98% is either downcycled (like turning it into aggregate for cement ending it’s life cycle) or landfilled 😬🙄😨. There are a number of reasons why, a couple top reasons are the shipping weight is not cost effective for large manufacturers often located far away from the US, and these manufacturers are afraid consumers won’t like irregularity in their glass products on a large enough scale . @trisleeps and I disagree , we went down a year long research and material experimentation project to explore what can be done with this green and brown glass to bring more appreciation , aka perceived value , to this material that so often goes overlooked.

Hey! I made a reel 😋 to show off the new ~ *To-Go* Tables ~ easy to assemble & disassemble with a lap joint center seam and snug pressure fit , so no need for hardware 💫 we designed these to use the left over plywood from loom production so less material would be waste, Also bc of the clustered production, numbers are limited ⏰ find the three designs in our webstore and DIY w us:)))😛🫠 & yes, they are packaged in LMO branded pizza boxes 📦 😘😅
💗reminders of love for the big blue recycled denim chairs that we made a batch of for the @blueland NYC office — these are stuffed w shredded denim as alternative stuffing to what’s usually (in the furniture design world) petroleum based foams and the structure is primarily industrial paper tubing ♻️ . Furniture pieces can either be ordered custom w an 8ish week lead time or if we have it in stock in our Hudson showroom they can be sent out the following week 💗

A new Mycelium Foam Almost Nothing Lamp is in the @nycxdesign SHINE show up through May 20 ☀️ I started working w this material while pursuing anti petroleum based upholstery foam solutions during a design fellowship w mycelium innovation hub @ecovative and couldn’t resist highlighting the glowing semi transparent visual texture of the foam when revealed with light.

Six custom Almost Nothing Pendants for @kittyshudsonny upstairs dining room 💡❤️ made in-house this summer w bent, welded and powdercoated steel rod and stretched vintage white blouses — I love how the layered fabrics and seams create almost a stained glass like pattern across the illuminated form- currently sketching more forms for almost nothing lamps in 2026 and have some Deadstock fabric sourcing to do 😜 reach out to discuss customs , the skies the limit w this steel rod / fabric combo forms , I really enjoy making these :)
Maxed out 2025 — started w a 3 week work trip to @kokrobitey.institute w auggie , ended with @basilicahudson farm & flea and some design build for @kasuri_ny ~~ in between alotta other *work hard play hard* scenarios — teaching took more of a forefront w monthly *fixit picnics* w the @hudsonarealibraryny , waste driven design workshop & lecture @sjsu , sustainable design @rpiofficial over the summer , 4 classes at @parsonsproductdesign btwn spring and fall , and 1 upholstery course at @risd_furnituredesign ~~ alongside exploring and creating new work in the studio , a collaboration w @anniebielski & @farmhacked , showing work at @collectiblefair@afternoonlight@cdcmo.nyc and creating customs for great clients like @kittyshudsonny@ch_herrero & @rivianofficial . Didn’t include proper documentation of all the work stuff in this round up cus I’m embracing a casual approach to this post :) but it happened and I appreciate the range of activity in this life and those that work and play w me to make it happen ❤️ shout out to @a_literal_angel who moved onto full time employment after 3 years with LMO, you truly are an Angel we love you! ❤️ hoping a more kind world emerges this year on a grand scale and wishin everyone a gentle 2026 ❤️
