Spotlight: @ericweildesignsTotal balance.Eric Weil is a Brooklyn-based furniture designer with more than two decades of practice at the intersection of structure and sculpture. At Afternoon Light, he debuts the Carlo Collection — inspired by Italian architect Carlo Scarpa — pairing concrete with glass and metal, stone and paper. Dense and tactile against soft and transient. Grounded against weightless. Everything made by hand in his Greenpoint studio, from mold to finish. No two pieces exactly alike. Spotlight: @oliviabarrybyhandLight in form.Olivia Barry makes handmade ceramic lighting in her Tarrytown, NY studio — each piece sculpted to conceal the bulb within the form itself, letting illumination diffuse through the object rather than from it. At Afternoon Light, she debuts Slim, her most streamlined design yet: an elongated, continuous line that casts a soft, controlled glow. Also new: the Studio line — compact editions of her iconic Scroll and Wing sconces, developed for powder rooms, guest rooms, and bedside settings. Restraint as a design language.
