Il y a quelques semaines, le Lézard a eu l’occasion (et le défi !) de participer à un projet de @alexandra_mcn et @retinaa.ch pour le @festival_nous porté par @labnf ! Alexandra Mocanu, artiste et brodeuse franco-roumaine, a réalisé durant plusieurs mois une broderie représentant un fragment du Massif du Mont-Blanc à partir d’images créées par le duo suisse Retinaa. En plus de la broderie, l’image révèle, à la lumière UV, un autre aspect et de nouveaux reliefs, et c’est là qu’est intervenu le Lézard ! Défi de taille pour nous, puisque ce type d’encre n’avait jamais été utilisé dans l’atelier, la broderie présente une texture particulière, différents niveaux, un format gigantesque, nécessitant un raccord entre les écrans et un temps de séchage entre les 2 passages ! Un travail impressionnant, dont voici quelques photos ! —— A few weeks ago, the reptile Lézard had the opportunity (and the challenge !) to be part of the project of @alexandra_mcn and @retinaa.ch for the @festival_nous by the @labnf ! Alexandra Mocanu, a French-Romanian artist and embroiderer, realized during a few months an embroidery representing a fragment of the Mont-Blanc Massif based on the ideas and images from the swiss duo Retinaa. With UV light, new aspects et depths of the embroidery become visible. And with that Lézard’s work begun ! HUGE challenge for us, since this type of ink was never used in our workshop, the embroidery has a certain texture, different depths, a gigantic size and with that size, needed two printing screens and time between each of them to dry. Oldies but goodies, part two — this time featuring the New Year’s Eve cards we had the pleasure of designing for our favorite screen printer, @lezardgraphique67 . • What began as an invitation from our favorite screen printing studio, turned into something much more playful than we first imagined. From this collaboration came Mascarade — a game designed for all ages. At a time when masks had become part of our everyday lives during the lockdowns in France, the project took on a quiet layer of irony, echoing both disguise and reality, play and constraint. • Inside each box, you’ll find twelve cards (one for each month of the year), printed in four colors (reflecting the four seasons) and finished with a glossy varnish. Each card features cut-out shapes that can be inserted into the clips of the four masks, allowing for a wide range of colorful compositions — from simple faces to more elaborate expressions… • More a playful game than a conventional set of cards, we were delighted to discover your creations and all sorts of variations shared online at the time.
