I was inspired to do a little work wrap up.
This year started a bit slower than last year, which inspired @launchover (my production company with @michaeljepstein ) to collect 85 subject interviews across 58 days for a new horror documentary series that is now in the edit stage. I also logged 18 active days of pre-production on Launch Over’s next feature (title TBA). That included a massive set build, camera tests, script readthroughs, and more. We also pulled off a very ambitious 8-camera, 2-day feature shoot, we'll be sharing lots more about that when the time is right!
Working for others, I spent 60 days on set in 2025:
47 as DP
4 as 2nd Unit DP
10 as 1st AC
1 as Sound
That work included 6 features (three as cinematographer), 2 anthology segments (one as co DP on Final Transmissions and one as 2nd Unit DP), and 7 shorts (five as DP). I also shot 10 interviews headed to Blu-ray bonus features. All of these projects also included countless hours of pre-pro Zooms and tech scouts. On top of that, I did some YouTube social media editing for a music magazine. And some web design work though I officially just closed out my largest web client after ten years.
For comparison, in 2024 I worked 118 days on set:
62 as DP
54 as 1st AC
2 as Gaffer
2 as Background Actor (on Night Court lol)
2024 year included features (2 as DP, 3 as 1st AC), 5 shorts (2 as DP, 3 as 1st), and interviews for 3 docs.
I am excited for these projects to start making their way into the world over the next year. I am deeply thankful to everyone who has hired me and trusted me with their creative visions. And I love the crew I have built over the last decade in LA. I truly have the best collaborators.
Looking ahead, I am already booked on two features to DP that takes me through March, with hopes for more to come along (hint hint). I am also aiming to direct a feature of my own later this year.

I'm late on this, but we're playing @nightmaresfilmfest 10th year event!
I've met a lot of absolutely brilliant filmmakers at Nightmares, some of whom I've gone on to work with at times, and others who I still hope to work with one day!
I won't be able to make it to Columbus this year, but I hope everyone who does has an amazing time. This Deadline article about the event makes it sound like a banner year: /2025/10/nightmares-film-festival-10th-anniversary-programming-2025-1236568160/

#horrorcommunity #horrorfilm #zombies
Pleased to announce our first short film, DAY OF THE DAD, will be making its world premiere at @nightmaresfilmfest next month! It was a labor of love and is a love letter to my daughter who was 9 months at the start of shooting and 2 when we wrapped. (She’s 3 now. Don’t talk to me.)
I can’t wait to share it with the world. There are endless INCREDIBLE people whose hard work made this short happen. Your Horror Show and Launchover are juggernauts. And there’s so many more.

Bart & Bobbi Kill Each Other is honored to be an official selection of the 12th annual @filmquest running from 10/23 to 11/1 in Provo, Utah. Last year's Grand Prize short film Winner went on to win the Best Short Film Academy Award. Bart & Bobbi will definitely not do that, but we're still excited to be part of the event!
Thanks to the judges who worked around the clock to view 2,320 submissions for this year's fest, and to the entire FilmQuest team.
I'm impressed as always by the Bart & Bobbi cast and crew for turning such a ridiculous idea into something people really seem to be enjoying.

Man, do I (@abarrocasfilm ) love @genreblast ! They have made an art out of upping their own game. This weekend was tremendous fun, and the films were of a different and new level of quality. I got to watch impressive feature debuts from several filmmakers whose shorts I've watched for 8 years now. And the quality of shorts this year were beyond what I've seen in one weekend at any fest to date.
Taking home an award amongst this batch of nominees feels amazing. Every single comedy short on the nominee list brought the house down.
Thanks to the entire GenreBlast team for making an awesome weekend.
And congrats to the Bart & Bobbi cast and crew for earning this award with your talent and experience. I recommend every filmmaker to click on each @ below, follow them, and hire them.

Thanks to the team at GenreBlast for nominating Bart & Bobbi Kill Each Other for Best Comedy Short Film and Best Screenplay - Short Film!
I am always honored to be part of this event, and can't wait to screen the film at the Alamo Drafthouse for a GenreBlast audience!
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
We've joined up with a really rad group of filmmakers to make a found footage anthology called FINAL TRANSMISSIONS. It's six episodes of footage that has been floating around the airwaves . I'm always desperate to do space sci-fi horror and that's exactly what @michaeljepstein and I have planned! And we're shooting on the favorite camera of skater kids from 1987, the PXL2000! This still of me is taken with this camera! I also shot the photo of the TV on the poster - if you look real close, that demon face may look familiar - but don't make eye contact with it, or else!
To accomplish this crazed anthology we are running a crowdfunder on indiegogo (with big sales this weekend!). Sadly, it's the only way to make art viable these days and we want to be able to tell original stories. There are some great perks including voicing an alien for us, or me sending you a polaroid from the space capsule, VHS and much more!
Without Your Head Horror Podcast: the fine folks of the upcoming Final Transmissions joined Nasty Neal to talk about their found footage anthology series and the campaign to help it become a reality!
